Silent Hill Collection to Retain Original Voice Cast?

Fan outcry may have led to a compromise between Konami and the cast.

When the Silent Hill HD Collection was announced, there was a brief moment of rejoicing from fans of the long-running horror series. That rejoicing soon turned into screaming, when it was divulged that both Silent Hill 2 and 3 would be getting all-new voice acting. You can see examples of the new voice acting here, and whatever your opinions of the quality of the acting, it definitely sounds quite a bit different from the original. The initial reasoning for the new VO was a matter of money—the original cast wanted to be compensated for the re-issue of their work, and Konami decided to go with new actors instead of negotiate.

New South Park Game Coming to XBLA

Take on Scott Tenorman and his evil gingers next year.

The second South Park game for XBLA has finally been revealed. This will be the final part of the exclusive deal between Microsoft and South Park Digital Studios that was unveiled two years ago. The first game, South Park: Let’s Go Tower Defense Play! had a decent showing among reviewers, with a Metacritic of 72. While that game featured Stan, Kenny, Cartman, and Kyle in a tower defense setting, the new game is something much, much different.

John Carmack Addresses the Problems With the Launch of Rage

The legendary developer has some shocking comments.

id is a company that has been synonymous with the PC since its inception. The company that brought the world Doom and Quake has always pushed the PC as the lead platform for their games. Even though Doom 3 was released on the Xbox about six months after the PC launch, id had never gone fully multiplatform on day one until the release of Rage last week. While the 360 and PS3 versions are stable, there have been plenty of issues with the PC version of the game. John Carmack, the co-founder of id and driving force behind the company’s game engines, spoke out about those issues recently.
