I'm discovering that a lot of NES games of the time are kind of obscure in their aims and often give no clues, which is hard for me these days to sit with. I'm so used to games with clear objectives now. But, I'm slowly getting into it here and there.
I was thinking I could use Google Lens on my phone to translate the dialog as I go in Ys 1. I may try that. Gameplay would be slow but at least I could play some of it. I like the idea that it was meant to be a little more forgiving than most RPGs of the time.
Kids would love it, I think. I played as everyone (you had to for an achievement) but mostly as Bingo. Not sure why, I just chose her first.
I've seen a little bit of the show. Funny thing, I work with a guy one day a week who is on the asperger's spectrum. He knows all the daytime tv shows, game shows, kids shows and cartoons but can't stand Bluey for some reason. I teased him about it a couple times but didn't dwell on it. I'm not mean. We get so much Bluey media circulating in the library, it's hard not to mention it.
