This week I got caught up in retro mania by picking up not one, not two, but four Flashback consoles. I just couldn't help myself after seeing them all stacked there together on the shelf at Toys R Us. Then on Sunday I played a bunch of Borderlands The Pre-Sequel and had a lot of good luck freezing enemies solid and making it snow with freezing grenade clusters. The weather was a chilly wintry mix there on the Moon this week.

The 100 Greatest Console Video Games: 1977-1987. Why books don't have multimedia enhancements is a missed opportunity to continue making physical books relevant. Put some chips in the book to instantly send links to your phone so you can watch videos or hear music relevant to what your reading. In this backwards age, I have to do it manually through this blog.

Remember that from the arcade game Berzerk? I'm recalling all sorts of old school memories and learning some new things in Brett Weiss' new book The 100 Greatest Console Video Games: 1977-1987. Get a look over my shoulder as I write myself notes about what I've been reading today.

I played another full day of Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel continually in co-op with my buddy Mark. I bought the season pass for the upcoming four DLC packs, topped 50 hours playtime, got to 26 of 50 achievements, and begun True Vault Hunter Mode, which is just a harder difficulty replay of the game.

Today I started Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel (BtPS) again continuing some side missions I was on when co-op happened. I forget exactly why my friend Mark and I started playing the missions co-op, but it was very helpful in the last several story missions to beat the game.

I'm going to be (that is if I didn't have to work and if I was one year into my new work out regimen that I'm starting soon) Gene from God Hand. More speficially, his final battle version which has him with both the god and devil hands. That means a right arm brace and a left arm sleave tattoo. Oh yeah!

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, or you could call it Borderlands 1.5 or someting. It's right between B1 and B2. I just hit a pretty big boss fight and story reveal and I'm beginning to see how many elements of B2 came to be. It's super fun learning about the charcter's origins from both games and the various enemies of B2. I was getting a little worried this game would have nothing new to offer me but further mining for loot, but I'm excited again about the world and the characters. 

Well I'm a level 20 Fragtrap now in Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel and I've still not finished the story. I get distracted quite a bit doing side missions and figuring out a system of saving and disposing of extra weapons.

Spent the whole day playing Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel (BtPS) again. I'm up to level 17 as Claptrap. I haven't finished the main story-line although my friend Mark, playing right next to me on his own system, is pretty close to the end. I've been trying not to pay too much attention so I don't spoil the story for myself, but it's not easy.
