What has a bear, a beard, two-legged mechs, and flies? Iron Brigade: Rise of the Martian Bear.

Last year, I praised and criticized Double Fine's Trenched before it received a new name. My verdict? It played and worked well, but didn't offer enough variety and versatility to last as long as a proper tower defense game should. Fortunately, Rise of the Martian Bear provides a lot of content, weapons, and towers that resolve many of the issues the original Iron Brigade faced.

Tales of the Abyss Preview

Re-discover the meaning of birth, this time in 3D.

In 2006, fans of the Tales series were starving for more. Coming off of the surprising success of Tales of Symphonia for the Nintendo Gamecube were not one, but two titles in the same year. The first, Tales of Legendia went largely ignored for its odd art style and lackluster presentation. The second title was Tales of the Abyss, which seemed like more of the natural progression of what Symphonia had achieved earlier.

Square Enix Reveals Sleeping Dogs

Thankfully it isn't another Kane & Lynch game.

Last month information surfaced on NeoGaf that Square Enix had filed for a trademark on “Sleeping Dogs.”  Many presumed that this meant that another Kane & Lynch game would soon be forthcoming, as the last game in that series was subtitled, Dog Days.  Fortunately for us, Square Enix has put those dogs down and has instead announced Sleeping Dogs as a brand new, open-world action game set in the streets of Hong Kong.

The Simpsons Arcade Game Review

Aye Carumba!

Konami brought many great, well-known beat-'em-ups to the arcades in the late 80's and early 90's, and all of them but one have made a transition to home consoles. Yes, The Simpsons Arcade Game is the last and perhaps best classic Konami beat-'em-up to be brought back, and for those who've played all the other classic Konami titles to death, there's enough variance and originality here to keep players hooked.

Final Fantasy X HD a Remaster, Not a Remake

The speculation has come to an end.

Ahead of Tokyo Games Show 2011, Square Enix surprised fans with the announcement of an upcoming HD version of Final Fantasy X. At the time, however, no information about the game was announced otherwise - including whether the game was to be a remake of the PlayStation 2 title or a remaster. Square Enix has put the speculation to bed with their latest announcement - Final Fantasy X HD is a remaster.
