It's not the "worst game ever" but that certainly doesn't mean it's good.
Finally joining the WiiWare ranks, Paper Wars: Cannon Fodder has earned something of a reputation thanks to its unique marketing spin. Sarcastically referred to by its developers as “the worst game ever,” Paper Wars doesn't quite fit the bill. Don't mistake that to mean that Paper Wars is actually good – it's not. Like many of WiiWare's recent offerings, Paper Wars: Cannon Fodder would be better served as a free Flash game in your browser, made specifically for wasting time at work.

Just when you thought awards season was over...
Last month we announced our Game of the Year award winners by genre, platform and overall game of the year, but we weren’t through showcasing the best that 2011 had to offer. With so many games deserving of the moniker Game of the Year we have decided to expand our awards ceremony into 2012 with the 2011 Supplemental Awards. These awards seek to recognize games that excelled in a specific area whether it be through technical achievement, sheer enjoyability or utter disappointment.
No, not the Mario & Sonic game.
Fans of the Olympic Games now have a video game to look forward to. Or not. Either way, Sega has announced London 2012 - The Official Video Game of the Olympic Games. Unlike the recently released Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games, this will be a more conventional title and will not feature any Yoshis, Hedgehogs, Koopas or Echidnas.
The N64 was two, almost three generations ago, right?
I would call myself a gaming enthusiast – someone who can appreciate just about any type of game for its unique merits. As such, I rarely see any game as a complete and total waste; Zombii Attack is one of those rare exceptions. Surely, it'd be better off buried somewhere out in the desert next to the Atari version of E.T..
Lower earning forecasts are forcing the company to put projects on hold for social ventures.
The rough game economy is continuing to show its impact on studios around the world. Cave, known for their hardcore, bullet hell shoot-'em-ups are exploring their options after lowering both six month and yearly earning forecasts. The company's 2011 fiscal year, which began in June 2011, was expected to bring 3,300 million yen in sales, but has since been reduced to 500 million yen ($6.5 million) due to industry stagnation and cautious retailers taking smaller orders.
GameStop had a great holiday season.
The 2011 holiday shopping season was a strong one for GameStop and the retailer has announced a year-over-year sales increase of more than 5% during the nine-week period that ended December 31. Sales were $3.02 billion, up from $2.86 billion from last year.
Gamers opting into AT&T's service will get more than just data for their dollars.
At E3 earlier this year Sony announced that AT&T would be providing the 3G service for its newest handheld gaming device, the Vita. Today AT&T revealed how much the data plans would cost US gamers and what perks, if any, they would get with them.
Based on the graphic novel of the same name, players can dive into the game in just 2 weeks.
