Fallout: New Vegas Ships 5 Million copies and stores are already placing orders for more. Physical and digital sales combined are over $300 million.
Today Bethesda Softworks announced something unsurprising: New Vegas, the latest release in the Fallout series sold a lot of copies. Combined numbers of the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC versions shipped-to-date is recorded at 5 million. You can write off those numbers as 'shipped' versus sold, but Bethesda has already received numerous requests for new shipments from their retail partners.

Harmonix has officially left the Guitar Hero series in the dust.
Harmonix continues to impress with their latest mainline entry of the Rock Band series. Rather than revolutionizing the genre through complete and total change, they have managed to keep the same general structure while adding the brand new Pro mode that brings players closer than ever to truly playing the instrument they are emulating. As a matter of fact, if players choose to take on the Expert variant of Pro mode, they will actually be truly playing the exact notes that comprise the song. Couple this with keyboard support and an eclectic set list and you have the best rhythm game available on the market.

Zombie mailbag wants your brains. (In a good way.)
Avid fans of PixlBit (Read: Zap) may have noticed I've mentioned the idea of a solo podcast a few times in the past month. While at first, the idea was uncertain, as time passes, it seems to be more and more of a sure thing. How does Mailbag relate? I want to read and respond to listener mail! That's right. I want listener mail! I know the podcast hasn't yet begun, but it will soon, so why not get a head-start? You could be featured. You could be featured in the first edition of "JasonCast" or "PixlJalk," or whatever we decide to name the thing. How about, for the first episode, you send in suggestions for the title of the show? As always, suggestions can go to mailbag AT pixlbit DOT com, but in this case, they can also be sent to jasonr AT pixlbit DOT com, too.

After a slew of promotional limited demo releases, Capcom has finally made their Lost Planet 2 demo widely available.
Some may recall Capcom organized a few promotional releases for the Lost Planet 2 Demo focused on their Capcom Unity blog, but unfortunately, the download keys offered for the PSN and XBLA demo were first-come-first-serve in a limited fashion.
Massive changes to the formula have been made, most of which will alienate the die-hard fans of the series.
Final Fantasy XIII is an absolutely intriguing game. I say this because it has made some of the most radical changes I have ever seen in an RPG, especially for the by-the-book Final Fantasy series. In my opinion, these changes are absolutely phenomenal; boiling RPGs down to their essence and refining the remaining bits into a single coherent experience. JRPG and Final Fantasy fans are likely to be outraged at the massive overall seen here.
