Ubisoft Announces New Prince of Persia

The new title is set to release May 2010.

Today, Ubisoft announced the latest entry into the Prince of Persia Sands of Time series, Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands.

The game is set for release on both home consoles and handhelds May 2010. Currently no other information is known about the title.

According to Ubisoft, a debut trailer will be shown on Spike TV's Video Game Awards 2009 on Saturday, December 12 ad 8PM EST.

Seriously, I'm not interested if this turns out like next-gen PoP. That game was mind-numbingly boring. A return to the Sands of Time formula would undoubtedly be for the best.

If this is a return to the classic Sands of Time formula, definitely count me in. The platforming was simply phenomenal and the combat was original and engaging. Hopefully they won't ruin this new game by implementing another system where players can't die, pretty much sucking any challenge out of the game.
