Mommy's Best Games wants the heavy hitters to contact the ESA and pull out of SOPA support.

The SOPA saga continues! We’ve been reporting on the ongoing struggle between the video game industry and the Stop Online Piracy Act lately. Even though heavy hitters like Sony, Nintendo, and EA have pulled their support for the controversial bill, the ESA (Entertainment Software Association) still supports it. Many renowned companies are members of the ESA, and thereby support SOPA by proxy. One developer, Mommy’s Best Games, is stepping up and trying to get the ESA to pull their SOPA support.

Mommy’s Best Games is an indie developer that has gained a great deal of traction in the last couple of years. They got some exposure with their action-heavy Xbox Live Indie Games like Shoot 1up and Explosionade before working on the Serious Sam spin-off, Double D. In a blog post on the company’s website, Nathan Fouts made an appeal to various industry luminaries to contact the ESA.

“From what I can tell, my company lost plenty of potential sales of our recent game Serious Sam Double D to online piracy,” says Fouts. “But SOPA is not the answer to fixing piracy problems!”

Nathan Fouts also asks his fellow gamers to step up and contact the ESA regarding this serious issue. He leaves contact information for the ESA, as well as some informative links on what SOPA could mean for the industry.
