Run for your lives!
Meet one of the creators of Doom.
If you’re near Mesquite, TX this evening, you may want to change your plans.
That’s because John Carmack, as well as other key members of the Rage team at id, will be signing copies of their new first person shooter at 11pm tonight.
The post-apocalyptic shooter is the first major release from id since 2004’s Doom 3, and also is the first game created on id’s new engine. It is rare for people in the development community to get out among the fans and sign autographs and mingle with their audience.
Those of you interested in heading out to meet John Carmack can do so at the Gamestop on 503 N. Galloway Avenue in Mesquite, TX,75149. For the rest of you, Rage comes out tomorrow for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.

It’s been a long time since we’ve seen an entry in the Metroid Prime series - 18 years, in fact. It was 8 years ago that Metroid Prime 4 was originally announced and its development was more than a little turbulent. Initially developed by Bandai Namco, it was later scrapped completely and development was shifted back to Retro Studios to start the project over. In the end, Retro has delivered a solid new entry in the series, but one that doesn’t totally capture what originally made the series so compelling.
