Update on Life!

Posted on 04/04/2014 at 11:03 AM | Filed Under Blogs

I got in a debate about minimum wage with my professor yesterday, which started cause he asked if my ex-girlfriend who has a desk job got paid the same as I did, and at one point he suggested that people angry about financial crooks didn't understand what made them crooks and were "angry about something they didn't understand," which is a) bullshit and b) he's not an economics professor, so I think that's projection more than anything.

Neither of us really won that debate in my opinion, we just through out a bunch of hypotheticals.

My Top 10 GBA Games

Of these, I own and have beaten Fusion and Zero Mission, and have rented and beaten Minish Cap. I have to say, I agree with Minish Cap being #1; I need to get myself a copy.

I actually didn't mind the linearity in Fusion at all when it released, because I was not used to the Metroid formula, so the GBA game was a lot more accessible to me than Metroid Prime  was at the time.

Zero Mission  is awesome, but I definitely knew it was a remake, because I was playing NES Netroid before it released via the Metroid Prime unlockable version. I like it a hell of a lot better than the original, that's for sure. I respect the original, but every time an enemy passes through a door I just closed and hits me, without my being able to move out of the way or combat it, I want to kill something.

You're All Fools, but So Am I

Pretty much everything except for the Costner/shoot thing was true (my older bro works for the stadium, has been an extra in a couple films, etc. were true details) and as I told Chris, I have a background in production as well as knowledge of how my older bro and most extras were/are compensated/what they do, so it wasn't hard to come up with believable details for the fool.

Hope you had a great birthday, by the way!

LOL I did not see that, but I'm glad my inability to be succinct does not go unnoticed by people who aren't my professors. I really do need to watch that.

And that is exactly the type of prank I'd expect from Blake, and it sounds awesome.

My older brother has done work as an extra, and having been involved in production, I know how extras are generally compensated from both his and my own experiences, so that's how I was able to make it sound authentic.

As for the basketball thing, I'm a bit worried about that TV, cause people I've worked with have complained that they feel like during football games, they're paying to watch TV. Maybe it's in a different position during actual games there, but I've always been able to see the field just fine from pretty much anywahere, so I dunno.

I forget, is The Show like a Sportscenter type thing, or like a reality TV show competition thing?

It's  a large place with a lot of Miller Lite advertising if I'm thinking of what you're talking about. I do have pics of their locker room for sure. I'm not sure if I took pics of that tunnel though, cause we've been in it before, it was too dark for my camera phone, and it was after being on the actual field, so it sort of felt like the tour was over at that point. I'll see if I or some family member has a pic or two for you, though.

Commenter's note: I don't know that that's really Siegfried. I just think the guy in that picture dresses similarly.
