Let us talk about current state of SciFi...

Well Defiance got even darker in Season 3 premiere. Game of Thrones is a good comparison. There does seem to be more of a clash between Aliens than there were in the beginning which seemed to be kind of a Utopia. Still gonna watch though.

Dark Matter is a slow start. The relationships haven't been formed yet and the world is new to the crew and audience, but one of the complaints I've read about this show and Killjoys is the lack of Aliens, which is what I was waiting to see.

Wayward Pines kind of reminds me of Silent Hill.

Yeah. It is based on the comic, but I've never read it so the story is new to me, although I can't say how close the show is to the comic either?

Why Bloodborne Doesn't Hold Up To the Souls Series

I still have the original Devil May Cry 3. I'm playing throug DMC 4 Special Edition right now and so far I don't feel like it's as hard as DMC3 original. I'm seeing lots of reviews about how Bayonetta 1 &2 might be better games. Hmmm. Hopefully a special GOY Bloodborne with extra DLC will be out by the time I get a PS4.

$50 a year isnt really a lot considering that some $60 games don't have enough content in them to justify the full cost. There was a certain point where there seemed to be a clear division between PC and console game exclusivity, but now it seems Sony is catching up with the Indie scene and there are great games on PC coming to console like Divinity Original Sin. So, yeah it's a good time to own a console. However, I still like the occasional odd game, indies, that appear on PC though, which I don't think console can touch. Here's to the weird Indie games that no one plays!

So it turns out that the Souls games are connected after all?

Well, there were some very obvious callbacks to characters from previous games in Dark Souls 2 and architectural similarites that seem all the more obvious now. But, it's speculation and Vaati is just going off of a demo experience and cut scene analysis.

Souls needs to be freshened up a bit. Maybe a dark, more modern setting could work too.

You never owned a PS3? What were you gaming on? There are a lot of really good games you can get now for real cheap.

Aside from Indie and PSOne classics I like terrible games on Vita. : (
The last great game I played on VITA was Gravity Rush, although it was on sale for like 5 US Dollars or something.
I recently played through a dungeon crawler called New Tokyo Legacy. It's a dungeon crawler like Etrian Odyssey. It's not for everybody, but I like hard games.
Aside from that, I played a few Neptunia games, which I wouldn't recommend unless you really want generic Anime JRPGs with tits in your face for no reason.
I think you got some of the better games already honestly.
I own Metal Gear HD Collection, Persona Golden, Assasins Creed Liberation,  and a terrible Silent Hill dungeon crawler called Book of Memories or something.
Indie games are boss though! Spelunky, Guacamelee n such.

You can also play PSOne games on VITA which is what I do all the time since it has a sleep button and I can get back to it any time. 3DS is like 2nd to my VITA and maybe iPhone games. You can try Persona 4 Golden now. Cool

I used to think this too, but after playing Dark Souls 2 and the absense of the main director, I realized that it's the director and his vision for the game that makes the games good and the series can go stale if they keep the castle themes. As long as the director has his hand in development and vision I'm fully on board.

So it turns out that the Souls games are connected after all?

Why not? Honestly these games are what motivated me to write about games in recent years. Dark Souls 1 is still the best and mush be super cheap by now. Should at least try it out on 360 or PS3.
