It's coming to 3DS too. DQ11 is supposed to be some kind of MineCraft game right?

One week with PS4 impressions n stuff.

The small gaming library is going to cause me to neglect the console like I did with WiiU, although I'm impressed with the hardware, I have very specific tastes in games that PS4 isn't really offering right now. The recent game sale made me want to fire up my PS3 or PSVita actually. They need to bring emulation to PS4 pronto!

This game is glorious! I love it and the connection to Metroid Prime sharing suits via Gameboy cable and all. I want another Metroid game like this!

Well I try not to be judgemental when it comes to peoples sexuality, which includes their preference in media like games, books or umm cartoons/Anime? I don't get it, but whatever.  I turn to games for stories, strategy, etc. A lot of the JRPG games I play have overtly sexual characterisations, but thats mostly coincidental as I enjoy the games because of their battle systems, traditional game design and quirkiness, but there is also a cultural aspect that really likes pervy anime, so it's inserted into these games.

Any plans for Guild Wars 2 long term? You building a guild or just hanging out? Which class do you think would fit your party best? I want to start with a new level 0, but not sure which class? I will make it a female character too. I will try to get on this weekend, evenings and hang out while I level up.

Here is the female gunner character I created in Tera whose milkshake brough all the boys to the yard in case you were wondering. I don't normally play as female chars, and this had the wildest armor, appearance I've seen in MMOs.

I usually create characters based on character designs that I like, so for MMOs if I'm playing an archer/bowman I'll make'em look like Green Arrow, or if I play a knight/solider type character I make them look like Lightning from Final Fantasy 13 complete with blonde/pink hair because I like character design.

As for wierd experiences with different gender characters, I was playing on a roleplaying server for Final Fantasy 14 MMO where the guild leaders were hot girls in underwear/bikinis but their user profiles on the guild forum were like older dudes. I used a typical male character but the conversations in chat were very weird like their chat dialog was all in character so there was a weird dissonance thing going on. Anyway, that was a roleplaying guild, so maybe they were doing it right and I should have explored my character more, but it was pretty weird knowing they were dudes acting like real chicks. There were other great people on the guild, but I pretty much left the group right away.

I've created female characters in MMOs and other games because of character design and to change up the vanilla feel of ordinary white guy. Most of the JRPGs I've played this year have female characters and are super girly, but I just like the weird quirkiness of it, not so much because I find it sexual in any way.

I think I might create a chick character for Guild Wars 2 now that you've brought this up!

1. Do you play characters of the opposite gender, and if so, why?

Yes. If the gender fits the playstyle or if their design is more interesting than other gender. I like making girl witches/mages or warriors like Xena.

2. If you do, have you had any experiences like mine? How did you React to them?
Yes.  Actually, when I was playing Tera with a female character I felt other people helped me out more on the field and tried to friend me, unlike playing as a male gender. I've noticed this in other games.

3. What do you think of people who play as the opposite gender in general?

I don't think negatively of these players, but there is a segment of the gaming population, I'd guess largely male, that they prefer seeing/controlling girls in a game than a dude becuase it's hot. I remember this came up with Jill's jiggly boobs in Resident Evil remake and some preferred female lead in Mass Effect to look at her ass more. Generally I don't think anything bad about choosing other genders in games, I've done it but it just comes down to change in variety. I had a bunch of ladies on my crew and as Capt in Star Trek MMO and it was awesome! Cool

Armada 2526 Its $1.99 on Steam and Well Worth it.!!

Well, I'm enjoying Blitzkerg or whatever its called thanks to you. Good call. Is there anything like Blitzkerg but more updated graphicall--moderny I mean? Glad you're enjoying Steam! I remember the days when you were all about PS2 games. This is the golden age in gaming and there is a great big gaming world out there to discover.

Spoils Batman: Arkham Knight

Arkham Knight is a cool title, but also a bit deceptive one. The game is padded with loads of tank battles in the  main quest which slows down the pacing of the storyline and subracts from the otherwise free roaming and fast access provided by the batmobile. I liked the story overall and can forgive the tank war simulator, and to be clear it's not so much that the tank game is inserted into this game rather forcibly, but that I feel there is too much of it. Also, the familiar villains have been pushed off to side quests, where I wish they had been incorporated into the main quest and made the tank stuff optional. Just my feeling. I'm curious to see your impression on the game. Me and JoeStep enjoy the game, others not so much. Be a tie-breaker.

So This Is August, And Another Game Off Mount Backlog

I just started playing The Crew recently and thought the game was pretty good, considering it's free. I thought the controls felt a little loose, and I think the Batmobile controls a lot smoother in Arkham Knight considering its more of an action game. I do like the Fast and Furious storyline in The Crew though. Do the controls get better with upgrades? That's what I was wondering. I didn't know you could finish the game. I though it was free to play until you bought the full game?

I want to replay Destiny for PS3. I doubt the visuals still hold up.

Spoils Batman: Arkham Knight

Sorry. You're right. It was Moore who wrote Killing Joke that involves Joker/Batgirl and it is very dark, then Frank was influenced by Moore and made Batman super dark and violent. I figured the Joker was obviously influencing Batman throughout this game which is why he acts the way he does, but not typically like Batman normally would. I can see how changing a trait like nonviolence to an iconic character to make it more gamey would seem like a cop-out, like when Nathan Drake turned Rambo in Uncharted 2. Again, I'm speaking out of context since I haven't heard the podcast, but I think Batmans violent edge is somewhat accounted for.

What did you say or write that got you mentioned on the podcast? I need to revisit this podcast when I finish the game, but so far my impression of the game is good and similar to how you feel about it. As for the Batmans bully-ish tone, well the game is obviously referencing Frank Miller and Dark Knight Returns/Killing Joke in this game, especially with Oracle and I was pretty shocked by it all including the other family members that I wont go into detail about so not to spoil things, but Miller made Batman into a mean asshole, and pushed Joker to the limit too and I can see the influence in this game. I personally would like a more low-key, violence toned down Batman, and this is pushing him to really dark areas, but I also don't want the same game over and over again.

I can't say anything more without having listened to the podcast or finished the game, but I'm glad I'm not playing the same game, and actually all three games are completely different from each other which is good.
