Video Gaming in My Textbook

Yea, I've had a few games effect me with their story or with the situations I was put in. More could be done with that. There's a lot of power there when you are controlling a character. You're more inside the story and it can effect you more. We just need more games that aren't just action movies, I guess.

Me too. They have these mats with road patterns on them for Hot Wheels. That made me think of when I used to play on my grandparent's persian rugs with my hot wheels. I'd use the patterns as roads and then act out little stories with the cars.

I think I took that test once. I should go take it again to see what I get.

Oh, I was ENTJ once. That's The Commander. Weird.

Well, we got a Diddy Kong game at least. Who's Diddy Kong related to again?

I'm fairly awful at this game. Or the game is making me awful. I can't decide yet. Sometimes I just want the enemies to stop chasing me so I can explore instead of shoot. This is something my friend Mark can only barely tolerate when we play co-op.

They are kind of bulky like tractors. I can totally see that. They're also generally bouncing over hills and stuff like the way tractors bounce around a lumpy field. Ha ha. That's kind of funny.

Games have a lot of potential to influence us for good. Maybe the mechanics of gaming gets in the way a little bit. You're always doing something active and so gameplay is somewhat like a sport. How can you derive empathy from a sport? I'm not saying it can't be done. Certainly it can. Maybe it's just hard to get someone to kick a ball for truth.

Those streaming times are great for me. I'll try and watch on my XBO this weekend.

February 2017 Recap

Playing the fantasy style DLC in Borderlands 2 today made me realize I haven't played a open world RPG for a while. Got to get on that.

I have that feeling sometimes. I think about that union thing: 8 hours to work, 8 hours to sleep, and 8 hours to do what you like. That 8 hours to do what I like can be all gaming if I want it to be. I calculated it was 3.8 a little while ago. That's not too bad since I don't watch TV. The other 4 is reading and writing and other miscellaneous social stuff. I guess, I tend to do numbers on things if I feel like I may be overdoing it with entertainment. I look at money and time and see if I'm happy with it. If not, I cut back, or think of something better to do. I've definitley cut back on spending. I spent way too much last year. Time feels ok, but I could be more social. Gaming, even with my friend Mark is somewhat insular. But then again, I'm not an extroverted person. Maybe it's normal for me?
