Museum Reviews

Oh yes I remember TV trays.  Guess I'm not as old as I think I am. :)  I used to have a Pac-Man TV tray when I was little.

I consider E3 and PAX my gaming related vacations.  I'd also like to go to Chicago and visit the new Pac-Man themed restaurant that just opened up called Cafe 256.

Did you know that Devilish was also ported to the Nintendo DS?

Got a AV Cable and Controller for My Genesis 3

My favorite Genesis games are Ristar and Streets of Rage 2, so if you have those, play 'em!  And I hope you get to play Namco Museum vol. 4 soon, too!

OST Spotlight--Viewtiful Joe 2

The Viewtiful Joe games were great and definitely seemed like a big franchise in the PS2/GameCube days.  Then it dropped off the face of the earth.  I hated the cartoon, though.

Ratchet & Clank

I loved that Little Nemo game as a kid.  That game got me interested in the Little Nemo comic strip.

Ratchet & Clank

If I had a PS4, I'd probably get that game.  But that's OK, as there are a couple of R&C games on the PS3 that I have that I haven't even played yet!  I'm really looking forward to the movie, though.  Ratchet and Clank was one of the better platformers in the PS2 console generation.  No disrespect to Mega Man Legends, but it's what a 3-D Mega Man should've been.

Atari 130XE games: Activision

That's interesting that they named companies so they'd be ahead in the phone book.  That's like how a lot of companies will name themselves A-1 so they can be at the front of the phone book.  When I was a little kid, I thought all those companies were the same as A-1 Steak Sauce.  I was like, "How can a steak sauce company have so many other businesses!"  Yeah I was a dumb kid.  But does anyone use phone books anymore?  Does this kind of thing even matter now?

Atari 130XE games: Activision

We don't have that particular Atari computer on display at the musuem, but we do have an Atari 800 computer.  I imagine they're similar?

River Raid was one of my favorite games on the 5200.  I thought it was much better than the other versions.  We have River Raid running on the playable Colecovision at the museum.

Poor David Crane.  Nobody liked his Ghostbusters game.  i could see what he was thinking with it.  Trying to make it feel like you were running your own Ghostbusters business.  But it didn't turn out too well in the gameplay department.  Did you know that David Crane and Garry Kitchen were there on opening day at the museum?

Microsoft Pinball Arcade, Destiny, and Persona 4 Golden

I had the Microsoft Pinball Arcade on my computer back in the day.  If you want a really fun pinball simulator game, try one of the Pro Pinball series (Big Race USA is my favorite of those).  I didn't know there was a version of Microsoft Pinball Arcade for Game Boy Color!
