Video Game YouTubers I Recommend

Posted on 04/25/2016 at 01:25 AM | Filed Under Blogs

A lot of YouTube folks annoy me because they curse every other word or they're more interesting in making videos and not actually playing the games they're talking about.  With that said, I have found a lot of good ones that talk about classic games, and some folks like "PeanutButterGamer" don't curse or talk very negative and such.  I guess I'm also a little jealous on how these YouTube folks have taken off and gotten famous instead of me.  I don't really have the money and resources and knowhow for a YouTube channel right now, so I'll just have to make do and be happy with what I have.

Eternal Champions and Ratchet & Clank

As an earlier fighter, I found that Eternal Champions was rather clunky and slow, once I finally got a chance to play it.

WTF does Popolocrois mean anyway?

Posted on 04/24/2016 at 08:57 PM | Filed Under Blogs

The reason why the PSP Popolocrois game felt like an RPG from the 90s was that it was originally a PlayStation franchise in Japan that was so popular there was even an anime about it.  I didn't know the 3DS one had farming stuff in it.  I thought they just slapped the "Story of Seasons" name on it to make it more recognizable to Americans.

I gots me a Vita 1001 today

Posted on 04/23/2016 at 05:37 PM | Filed Under Blogs

I got a Vita for Christmas.  I'm not sure what the model is, but once I finish Gravity Rush and play the new Ys game, I plan to write a blog about it.  So far my favorite Vita game is Tearaway.

Retro Review: Metal Slug 3

While they are super hard, I've always liked the Metal Slug franchise.  The in-game artwork is great and even has a bit of humor to it.  I've read that Metal Slug 2 and 3 are the best ones, and I'd have to agree.  I have the Metal Slug collection on Wii and it's a great way to play most of them.  I think it's cool how later entries in the series let you play as Ralf and Clark from the Ikari Warriors, and in the last Metal Slug game, Leona from Ikari Warriors KOF team is a secret character!

New Genesis Controller and Pokemon Conquest

Posted on 04/20/2016 at 11:48 AM | Filed Under Blogs

Pokemon Conquest is a weird game.  It's a mix of an old series of strategy games called Nobunaga's Ambition, a series that hearkens back to the NES era, and Pokemon.  It looks like Pokemon Tactics.

Yeah it kills me to find Pac-Man and Garfield stuff I had as a kid in antique stores.

Yeah I don't even know what it looks like!  I wish I could go before it closes down (not saying it will, but you know how things go).

Little Nemo: Dream Master and Ratchet & Clank

Posted on 04/19/2016 at 10:04 AM | Filed Under Blogs

Little Nemo: The Dream Master is one of my favorite NES games!  That game encouraged me to start learning about the real Little Nemo comic strip, which was in newspapers in the early 20th century and done by Winsor McKay, who was doing animation in vaudeville before Disney was in diapers!  He was way before his time.  While the video game is based more on the anime movie from the early 90s, it still has elements from the comic strip.  I encourage you to look up info on the LIttle Nemo comic strip, too!  It's very interesting.
