The Music of Ys Seven

Posted on 06/04/2016 at 04:49 AM | Filed Under Blogs

All you need now is the Ys 1 and 2 remake on PSP and you'll have all the PSP Ys games brought to the US!  Unless you want to get Falcom's Gurumin, as there is a secret boss that makes references to Ys.  Gurumin is a fun game regardless, you should check it out if you can.

I'll drop some knowledge, too, but you have to pick it up. :)  Ys: The Oath in Felghana is actually a retelling of Ys 3: Wanderers from Ys.  Except on the PSP it's done in a top down fashion, while the original game was 2-D sidescrolling, so it was kind of the odd duck in the Ys series.  Ys was brought over to the SNES early in its lifecycle.  I would've liked to have tried it, but I never got a chance to. I hear it's not very good, though.  Oh well.

Hey I didn't know that either!  Makes sense now when you look at the subtitles.  Ys 4 is an odd bird because there were two totally different versions of the same game!  It would be interesting to check out Ys 4 and see how different it is from Memories of Celceta.

Ys Seven on PSP and Ys: Memories of Celceta on Vita are totally seperate games, although they do share a lot of gameplay elements.  If you want to start with a Ys game, I'd recommend Ys Seven.

Also, you reviewed a Ys game here on PixlBit?  Link me, please.

May 2016 Recap

Best part of Mega Man 3 is that it introduced Rush!  Hooray for Rush!

I liked Skyward Sword a lot, too.  It's not my favorite Zelda game, but I certainly liked it better than Twilight Princess (on the Wii anyway).

I enjoyed the Twilight Princess Picross pretty well.  I hope they make a Kirby Picross!  You should get Pocket Card Jockey on the eShop.  It's super addictive!

I did not like the controls in Star Fox Zero at all.

I really liked Fantasy Zone: The Maze.

After that incident, I started calling her Spinach Talim!  Don't mess with her!

Makes you want to play Harvest Moon, doesn't it? :)

Pick up pig slops at a restaurant?!?  Remind me never to eat there. :)

Finally "finished" Tales of Zestiria

Posted on 05/31/2016 at 09:35 PM | Filed Under Blogs

I got Zestiria for Christmas but I lost interest in it.  They kept adding new rules to the battle system and sometimes less is more.  Also, even though Go Shiina is credited as being the composer for this one, it was actually a joint effort between him and the regular composer for Tales games, so the songs still were not as good as they were in Legendia, I thought.

I don't really know what game you should play next.  If you could get the Internet to work on your 3DS, I would suggest Pocket Card Jockey.

I've been actually watching a lot of Netflix myself.  They just added Animaniacs and a new Danger Mouse cartoon.

Yeah when i played it on one of the Capcom collections, I didn't think I'd like it, but it was surprisingly charming.
