Well, I've toyed with the idea of youtube, or Twitter, or Instagram, but I still like the "long" form written blog. It's just my thing. I've started a wordpress site but haven't used it yet. I still like an actual community and not just words sent into the clouds.
I read this article that suggested blogging is still strong and even essential for company web sites. Just maybe the gamers have left for video or more immediate forms of communication.
I mean, I'd love to stream if I could get my friend Mark into it (not going to happen). But, I think if I was just playing solo, I'd go play handheld systems. I could Tweet about that, but I can't imagine using Twitter for blogging. I can't type less than 250 words much less 140 characters about my hobby. Also, I don't see the point is saying something like, "just beat the dragon today". And that's it. Who cares?
I can see how time is an issue for some people, especially gamers who game for hours on end into the wee hours. I usually can get an hour in for a blog though.
