Top 5 of 2018 Past and Present

Posted on 12/29/2018 at 10:58 AM | Filed Under Blogs

I'm going by time played for my top ten. I can never keep up with new releases. One day maybe.

I'd like to play Astro Bot. Too bad there isn't a regular version of it.

I should really play Insomnic's Spider-Man game. I can rent it for free from my library too.

I tried FFXII a while back, and I still own it on PS2. I was confused by the battle system, but I want to go back and try it again. Those opening cut scenes are jaw dropping gorgeous.

Castlevania ... Mania ... and Spyro

I saw that on Xbox. Very cool. I'm really keen on Spyro though at a $20 price.

Yet Another Damn Sale

I want to change the song "I'm My Own Grandpa" to "I'm My Own Santa". ha ha

Goodbudget looks interesting, but I think I'm already hyper aware of my spending. It's always too much. I work on altering my feelings of need to make it less. Can an app do that?

I saw so many Lego games with prices under $10 the other day on Xbox. In a better economic state, I'd have bought them all.

That's good to hear about Spyro being more about exploration. I like that sort of thing. I definitely want the game. It was on sale today on Xbox for $30. I almost bit, but my impulse buy is $20. Plus, I want a physical copy not digital. So maybe my digital impulse buy is $10.

Oh cool. I'll have to look that up. Maybe my library has it.

Minecraft Horses

There are name tags you can find in Minecraft that let you name animals. I'm not sure how to do it but you've just given me another task to figure out in the game.

I don't think you've told me about Turbo Horse before.

Eye Brawl is one of my favorite characters across all the Skylanders games. His vehicle was Dive-Clops. I love the names for these things.

100 Steam Games

Well, there's always that more power, better graphics pull with new consoles. I wish I could upgrade my Xbox and get a better tv too. All the games stay the same, just look better and run without problems.

You certainly get good deals on games on PC. I'd love to get back into it, but the upfront costs are a bit high, plus there are hardware upgrades to think about down the road. If I got into it again, I'd probably focus on smaller indie games, retro and stuff that isn't so performance demanding. There's plenty there to keep me busy.

Strange New Interest in Puzzle Games

A few of the puzzles frustrate me but the hint system lets you off the hook if you get stuck.

I've heard about that movie. I'd love to see it. I know the in theater version had puzzles. I wonder if it's out for home or not, and if it still has puzzles.

I played a demo for one of the Phoenix Wright games once. I'd love to give the series a try sometime. These are perfect sort of games for a handheld system.

I just played one on Atari Flashback Classics vol. 3, Destroyer, an arcade game. There used to be bunch of arcade sub games like Sub Hunt. I played one on Xbox 360 called Battlestations Pacific. There was a pretty involved sub battle simulation in it. Oh, and there is that underwater vehicle for Skylanders Superchargers. It was Eyebrawl's deep sea diver craft thing. I'd like more of them, especially an exploration one would be cool.
