My Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Experience

Oh yeah this is probably the hardest Zelda game since Zelda 2 on the NES.

My Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Experience

There are some things about this Zelda game that I don't like as much, like how hard it is and how easy it is for weapons to break, and a few other little minor quibbles.  But so far the game is incredibly addictive.  I do hope that Nintendo doesn't permenantly change future Zelda games to be like this, because I do like having more dungeons and stuff.  I haven't been able to play it as much as I'd like.  I beat the giant elephant and now I'm working on that giant camel.

Breath of the Wild reminds me of Mega Man X.  I prefer the original Mega Man, but the first Mega Man X game is exactly what the series needed at the time to stay fresh.  Zelda games have been awfully formulaic as of late (actually for a while), so Breath of the Wild is exactly what the series needs right now.

PS: I've been calling it Cooking Mama Link, because cooking is what I've been doing the most in that game.  I also like Link's eating animations.

Fall of the Tomb Raider?

I think they should let me make the next Tomb Raider game.  Don't you think I'd do a good job with that/ :)

My next blog will be about my favorite Wii U games, so perhaps you should hold off on trading it in until you read my list?  Maybe?

Me, too.  I really prefer old-school, top down, 2-D Zelda games.

Well I didin't get the Switch just for Zelda.  I got it for the promise of new games and the chance to review more games on it, too.

I'm sorry to hear that your eyesight is degenerating and is causing you some problems, but at the same time it's comforting to me to know that you are also having trouble doing dexterious things because all my life I've wondered if I'm just a klutz for not being able to do certain things very well.  I don't even want to tell you how long it took me to tie my shoes as a kid.

Also, I'm not partially blind in one eye, but completely blind in it.  But I'm very thankful that i can see with my other eye.  Mainly because I wouldn't be able to play video games!  Many people with disablities can't enjoy most games, so we should all be thanksful we can see the graphics, hear the music, and control the games with our hands.

Thanks for reading and commenting on my reviews!  The new Zelda is fun, but I like the old Zelda staples, so I hope that they don't change the series from here on out to reflect this new one.  The game kind of reminds me of Mega Man X. I prefer original Mega Man, but MMX was exactly what the series needed at the time to stay fresh.  The new Zelda is like that, too.  It's exactly what the formulaic series needs right now.

New Arcade in My Area, Round 1

My brothers told me there's an arcade here that has Taiko no Tatsujin and the Theaterhythm arcade game.  I so want to see that!

Halo Hot Wheels Acquired and Stuff

I used to watch my brothers play those HALO games sometimes.  For some reason, I always called the vehicles in those games "tractors."  I don't know why, that's just the first word that popped into my mind.  So I would say to my brothers, "Get in that tractor!"  And they'd just roll their eyes at me and say, "That's not a tractor, Cary, it doesn't even look like one!"

We don't talk enough about rentals

Posted on 03/05/2017 at 07:08 PM | Filed Under Blogs

I used to rent games all the time at the local rental place, Pay Less Video, when I was younger.  Renting games there cost a buck, as opposed to a 40 dollar game, so you can guess what Kid Cary did most of the time.  I did this mostly during the NES and SNES days, but also a bit with the N64 as well.

I stopped renting games during the CD era because nearly any CD game I rented from there would be all scratched up and unplayable.  And by then, I was reviewing lots of games and if there were any that I didn't review that I wanted to play, I would just wait for the price to go down.  Nowadays, the games I want to play, I also want to own, so that's why I don't really rent anymore.
