Chrono Trigger is probably the best time travel video game. I've been thinking a lot about Chrono Trigger lately because I'm working on reviewing the new Switch game I am Setsuna, which has a world map and battle system VERY similar to Chrono's.
Another Zelda game that uses time travel is Oracle of Seasons. Also, there are a couple of dungeons in Skyward Sword that use time travel in a very unique way.
Better than Ys? Thats some pretty big shoes to fill especially since Ys Sever is one of my favorite PSP games and my most favorite Ys games in general.
Since the N64 didn't have two analog sticks, if you wanted to play Robotron 64 properly, you had to plug in two controllers and look like a doofus playing it.
Yoshi's Story was fun, but nowhere near the brillance that Yoshi's Island on SNES was.
Yeah that's right, Pokemon came out in 1998 in the US. That was definitely the year my game reviewing career at the newspaper really started picking up.
I just beat Breath of the Wild yesterday. So you're saying it's harder than Dark Souls, and I beat it? Does that mean I really am good at video games? Oh don't say you were only joking, I want to enjoy this moment. :)
Go look up the title theme for Buck Bumble. It'll be stuck in your head for days. :)
I'm going to guess and say that shmup you played on PC was Tyrian. That was a popular sharware shooter around that time.
I should write a Halo book, even though I don't know ANYTHING about the franchise. Here goes:
"Once upon a time, Master Chief deciced to hop in his tractor and ride around. And then he saved the day. The end!"
I was totally into Jazz Jackrabbit 2 back when I was in college. It was one of the few times I played PC games over console ones. I'd love to see a Jazz Jackrabbit collection on consoles, though.
I remember Buck Bumble. I had to review it for the newspaper. Ubisoft, the publisher of that game, have been supportive of me for that long! The thing that sticks out most to me about Buck Bumble is the title screen music. I bet you're rapping it in your head right now!
I could see games like Wonderful 101 becoming scarce and valuable.
Back before TellTale made the Walking Dead games, their games were TRUE point and click adventures with actual gameplay. Now they're just 'follow your nose' adventures.
