Pikmin in Space Looking for the End City

I beat Hey! Pikmin last week.  I thought it was a pretty fun little game.  Not sure why a lot of reviewers are panning it.

Before the Storm ... Timely Title

Over the weekend, where I live near Dallas it was hard to get gas because of the hurricane.  Luckily I was in Seattle for PAX for most of it.  Also, at the hardware store where I work, I saw a lot of new faces last week.  Turns out they were employees from Houston stores that came up here to work since all the stores down there were closed.

No I didn't review Splatoon 2.  I just think it's one of the better games for Switch right now and I'm getting a good amount of enjoyment out of it.

Splatoon 2 is a good buy.

Skylanders Trap Team, Earth Element

The design for Rocky Roll looks awesome.

I didn't have any Earth Elements until Imaginators came out and I reviewed it and it came with the Golden Queen sensei figure.  I'd like to get the Barbella sensei figure (also an Earth Element), but it was more than what I wanted to pay for it last time I saw it in a store. Same thing about the Crash Bandicool ones.   I don't think I've ever actually bought a Skylander figure.

Chris Plays A Kirby Game

That Kirby Clash game is really nothing more than a mini-game.  If you want to play a REAL Kirby game on your 3DS, try Kirby Triple Deluxe or Kirby: Planet Robobot.

Namco Museum Switch Virtual Tour

Yeah Gaplus doesn't get enough love.  They used to have it at the Pizza Inn near my house when I was a kid.

I THINK there's also a Rolling Thunder 3 on consoles as well.

Everyone says that Midway made these Pac-Man games without Namco's permission, but I think there's more to it than that.  If Midway really was breaking the rules, Namco could've swooped in and stopped them, but they didn't.  Probably because Midway's Pac games were making them money, too.  So I don't think Midway is entirely at fault.  I think both companies made boo-boos.  I still wish Namco would swallow their pride and get the rights to Jr. Pac and Baby Pac, etc.

The surprising thing about that Mystery Dungeon Druaga game (called NIghtmare of Druaga), is that it actually came to the US!  Another game that had a big Druaga cameo in it was Tales of Destiny.  There was a secret dungeon that was all 60 floors of the original arcade Druaga game!

Yeah I knew that "Kissy" from Baraduke was once Dig Dug's wife and mother of Mr. Driller.  I didn't mention it in my blog because otherwise my blog would've been WAY too long winded.  Do you know how "Kissy" got her name?  She would get drunk at parties and kiss everyone.  Another thing that I didin't mention is that Dig Dug has THREE sons!  There's Mr. Driller, his estranged son Ataru, and the third brother is claustrophobic so he doesn't go underground like the others.  But you can see him pulling Mr. Driller out of the well while piloting the helicopter in the games.

I don't think the Tales games fit in the main Namco universe.  Most of the games in the big Namo universe are science fiction games, so not all games fit in that same time line.  I do know that Ridge Racer is in that same timeline, though, because the Ridge Racer lady, Reiko Nagase, has a sister in the Ace Combat games named Kei Nagase.

Man I know WAY too much stuff about Namco lore.  There's probably something wrong with me...

I never heard of Tank Force before it was on the Switch either!  Which is surprising since I'm such a Namco fan.

Update for the Pixly Masses

Sonic Mania is pretty neat.  I don't like how it saves your progress, though.  I know the first few Sonic games wouldn't save your progress at all, and while I like returning to classic game sensibilities, not being able to save when you want to should always be a thing of the past.  I just don't like having to start over from Act 1 of a world if I have to stop and go do something else.  I'm not a kid on summer vacation anymore, I'm an adult who sometimes has to stop and do things like, say, go to work. That'll just slow down my progress in the game and I may not be able to play it as much as I want.

I loved the second boss in the new Chemical Plant Zone, though.  It just blew my mind!

I've Hit a Wall in Zelda and...

One neat thing about Breath of the Wild is that you can play it in short bursts.  But one bad thing about it (asides from that it's stupid hard sometimes), is that it's not really a Zelda game.  I still liked it a lot, though.  Especially cooking.  I liked how Link cooked and how he ate everyting in one bite!  I made him eat lots of stuff.  It's a wonder why he wasn't as big as a house by the time I got around to saving Zelda.
