The nice thing about a) not watching much TV, and b) having come so incredibly late to the party with the PS1 was that I walked into this game with only my old Sega Genesis to compare things to.

Aaron, it's a pretty good game. Just be prepared to do a lot of level grinding.
Load times for PS1 games have nothing on the time the cut scenes in Xenosaga take up. I think I could have walked to the corner store, ordered a sandwich, walked home, and eaten it in the time those cutscenes took.
