While it's nice to always know you're getting a good game, especially with how expensive they are now, I do miss being surprised. I think the App Store is the only place that sense of discovery still exists for me. Kind of sad.

The last time I paid full price for a game was Halo 4 and though I will be picking up BioShock Infinite next week, those purchases are by far the exception. If Microsoft and Sony do decide to flip us the finger and block used game sales for their next systems, it's gonna screw my gaming way of life.

The SNES is the best! I love the variety and the excellence in that variety. Like you said, nearly every genre has games that are still fondly remembered as the best at what they do. As great as the Genesis was for beat-em-ups, for instance, I still swear by Turtles IV.

Otherwise things are good. I like the new message/notification system, though it'd be nice to be able to customize what notifications we get. But that's a small quibble. Great work on the site!

Same here lol. I'll pick up the HD collection for sure if I find a really good deal on it. Otherwise, well, I'll probably keep waiting.

I heard the worst part of the first game was the whiny main character. If that's the biggest problem, then it must be a pretty good game.

It would be nice to have the originals, though it's actually cheaper at this point to get the HD collection. Not that I'd actually play them right away lol
