Last Week's Games

Witcher is pretty great. I love riding horses in games.

This part I played wasn't creepy at all. I think it's weird how scared people get of forests, so I was kind of making fun of the game as I played it. But, it probably does have jump scares and such later on. If only I could get on a new path in that woods. It doesn't let you bushwack through certain areas.

Finished Swap-Force

Skylanders would have you switching characters every few minutes if you listened to them. Every level has loads of different sections that have benefits towards only one element type. I try to stick with one character as long as possible. Even when there is a special location in a level that can only be accessed by one type of figure, I don't swap out. Swap-Force is even crazier with the swapable characters. Half a character can be swapped for another half a character to make a weird combination character. Some areas require two different element types for one figure. I'll do those later on.

Introduced My Cousin To The Nintendo Wii

I kind of doubt it now. They're all too old and I don't see my one sister's family anymore. But never say never.

I'm always getting hardware after the actually release day. I have to remember exactly when it was but it's usually a year or so after day-one. Except now it's been over two years since Switch came out and I still don't have one. Oh and I waited 5 years to get a Wii-U.

A couple of games are a bit weird as to release date and when Mark and I played them. Diablo III came out 2013 on PC but we didn't get it until just after Ultimate Evil Edition came out a year later. Same with Minecraft out in 2011 but we played it when it came to Xbox Live in 2012.

For me it just takes longer to get through things having to fight a lot. But it depends on the game. Sometimes I really get into it. Witcher's combat is pretty good, but you have to do all this preparing and combine spells with sword play. It gets a bit complicated.

I've been picking up used vinyl again, mostly to frame on my wall. I also got a Of Montreal CD the other day - all at my used record store and Goodwill. New music is way overpriced but Barnes & Noble has some budget stuff I might look at soo (I've got a gift card).

Cary is Looking Forward in 2020

Yeah, I heard the other day on IGN's Podcast Unlocked that it'll also come to PS4. Some Microsoft first-party devs are allowed to release on other platforms like Mojang and Double Fine, which is great.

Well, maybe with the pressure off fighting in Story Mode, I'll get obsessive about side missions.

You can use a seed world like the Stronghold Village (this on Xbox) to get a village right away near the spawn point but I like to randomize and see what comes up. Usually I climb a mountain or build a quick tower to see farther around me. If that doesn't work, I start boating because a lot of towns are on rivers and oceans. I like hunting them down, but it's time consuming.

I started sleeping at night thinking that might help, but ultimately it didn't. Sometimes the Golem gets stuck somewhere and neglects the town.

I was thinking of walls but it's so time consuming in survival mode. I've done moats before and earthworks. Fences might be good, especially stone ones. I usually have a lot of stone anyway from mining. I'll try that next time but there is one problem. Sometimes mobs just spawn anywhere there is a shadow or sometimes just anywhere, like in a house. If I keep the place lit, though, I think I'll be alright.

I also need to remember how to heal a zombie villager. I remember it was a golden apple and maybe a potion.

I wish that mod, Brutal Doom, would come to console. Also, I saw that Doom 64 will be released at the same time as the new Doom. I can't remember, but wasn't Doom 64 just another port of original Doom?
