Road Trip Reviews!

I have the console ornaments of the NES, SNES, Genesis, and Dreamcast.  But I didn't get the Xbox or Xbox 360.  The 360 is one of my favorite consoles, but since the ornament was HALO themed, I decided to skip out on it.  I spend way too much money on those ornaments as it is!

70s Gaming Review for August

The Pac-Man Atari console looks neat.  Not sure I'd get it though.  Depends on the price I guess.

Don't forget Namco's other 70s games, their most popular one being Galaxian, the predecessor to Galaga and Namco's first big arcade success.

There's somebody REALLY cool who was born in the 70s, :)

Well if I could I would magically teleport you to my house, I'd do that so you could play DK Bananza right now!  The levels have such cool themes.  My favorite so far is the fast food themed amusment park stage.  I think I like DK Bananza more than Mario Odyssey.

I still like those Corner Shop and the new Plaza game, but I'm just weird like that.

Yeah there's some I had to skip out on because they are getting too expensive  I won't get the Halo ones since I wasn't as interested in those games.  But they did have a Mario tree topper that looked like a star from those games, but it was 70 bucks.  I assume it lit up and had sound, and looks really cool, but that is way out of my price range for ornaments.  I already probably spend too much on them as it is.

I bet my mom would like that one.

60s Gaming

Posted on 07/20/2025 at 08:06 AM | Filed Under Blogs

How about games that are set in the 60s or have 60s vibes about them?  The only ones I can think of off the top of my head are Rolling Thunder, a classic arcade game from Namco that has a 1960s spy theme.  And Space Channel 5 has that 1960s Austin Powers music vibe going for it.  And Ulala...

Nah, I'm not a fan of The Game of Life either.  There's not really a lot of board games I do like I guess.  I did watch a documentary on board games once and the history of The Game of Life is pretty interesting.

Unfortunately, DK Bananza is going to be one of those games I play just for fun and not worry about writing a review.  So I'll I say is that it's really fun so far.  Like a cross between DK64, DK Jungle Beat, and Mario Odyssey.

There won't be a Switch 1 version of DK Bananza, but if you play two players, player two can use an original Switch!

Just keep in mind that the Corner Shop games are for little kids and are very simple.  They're not very good, but for some reason my brother Jeff and I were obsessed with them.  But then, we both like those virtual pet games.
