It comes out in a few days for console. I will wait for reviews. I don't have a problem with PC so far.
Yeah! D3 is more fast paced and streamlined, action game really. I was a little shocked at first and rejected it, but then I warmed up to it and couldn't stop clicking and leveling. I can't explain it, but it did get it's hooks into me. I read the console version is fun with a controller. We'll see about that. Maybe some coop with Pixlbit will be cool!
Did you create 9 characters on different servers? Oh dear! The main problem with Gilgamesh is that Reddit and 4Chan made it their official servers, so it was bound to get full. I just didn't expect SE to drop the ball this early. Really guys? Come on. I don't know if I will be able to play on Gilgamesh either yet. I don't plan on playing until Tues Aug 27, even then I don't know what server I will choose. I have a level 20/10/10 character on Gilgamesh, but I will have to reroll probably on another server. Oh well.
So dandichu, what was your play schedule like? I'm aiming for Balmung really. Yep, that's where I will reroll if it has a low pop. I was planning on leveling on weekends and week nights.
Have fun with EA. I hope SE fixes things by Tues.
Also, some of the servers you listed are legacy servers, so all the old players filled those up too.
I commented about VITA and Indie games already in a similar post. VITA just isnt selling well enough to get major devs to make big games for it like we want them too, so at the very least besides PS+, PSP and PSOne games for VITA, Sony is filling in that game drought with Indie games. Indie games tend to take up smaller space on your memory card, they are more affordable, and you can have a large library of these games on VITA, so I think it's a good thing.
I've been playing the hell out of FF Tactics, Tactics Ogre and Persona 4 as well as some PSOne FF games on VITA so I don't need more games really, but the VITA does in order to survive.
I would love for Minecraft to appear on WiiU. The game pad is perfect for tools. I've read many great things about Killzone VITA so hopefully it will be good.
It's unfortunate, but if you want the traditional MMO experience (friends, socializing) ARR isn't that game. It's gone the way of other current MMOs and made it unnecessary to talk to each other to finish the game. Players wanting a social experience need to group up prior to game start. Some guild websites, communities are really welcoming and helpful and focus on different aspects like Roleplaying, events, leveling, etc.
That's my advice. I've done it in the past and it was fine. Met some nice people in game this way. I might jump in and out months at a time with Time Cards though.
I need to see World End too! Beer & Robots = Awesome!
Hopefully it will push sales of VITA and bring in more gamers who were turned off by the device, and a popularity growth will attract more game devs. I think gamers have grown accustomed to the idea that small indie games are better as portable games as opposed to "console experience" games on portables. We tried console gaming with PSP and it didn't work. Most gamers don't want a console experience on portable. They want cheap 2D games to fill their memory cards.
They really do need to put Gran Turismo, God of War, etc. on VITA! I hope Killzone VITA is good!
I was going to write this exact same blog.
I played a lot of the beta and the people there needed to communicate because they didn't understand how the game worked or the game forced you to group with other players for solo dungeons. So some people didn't communicate because they were playing on PS3 and didn't know to plug in a keyboard. The game makes it way too easy to solo through all the content now, no communication required which a lot of us in beta griped about. I can imaging that's what's going on here. No one needs to communicate because they are busy leveling quickly in early stages. I did the same thing.
An alternative to finding groups is to join linkshell/guild outside of the game and find people to meet to play with who have a similar schedule as you. It's an extra step, but these people want to play with other people and there is a lot of recruitment. There are also time cards that you can purchase if you don't want your credit card renewing monthly. So you have like 1 month free, add a time card and you can get through a lot of the game content that way. The game caps at level 50, so it won't be hard to finish the story at least in a couple of months.
I will be playing this game, and it is biting my wallet too, but I'd rather play this than many new games, except for Wind Waker HD.
By all means play! I think there was an issue with "Duty Finder". Basically, alot of those forced dungeon missions can only be entered through the Duty Finder, and this is used for grouping for everything in the game, which is a big no-no. The Duty Finder servers, or match making servers locked up or something, too much traffic, thus players couldn't progress their levels because they couldn't enter necessary dungeon to level further. This is the gist of what I've read from the dev blog. They need to fix this fast, otherwise players will revolt as they did with ver. 1.0. I'm keeping positive, as they've done a great job so far, and this is a new problem, however it could have been dealt with had devs given us "more" access to beta. Oops!
