The idea that the truth of history is elusive because whoever writes it has his/her bias, suggesting that no one can really know the truth of history. I think while that's true, modern historians have really tried hard to get around the biases of a particular age and its historians through improved archeology and other techniques. We really can find out a lot of what is true of a particular time or event, just not in every case. Leaving history up to interpretation opens the doors for a lot of conspiracy theories and whatnot which make great stories like some told in Atomic Robo, but are really not too likely given what we actually do know for sure.
