I don't know if you read Manga, but have you noticed how some of the creators take some time off to do research? Guess what. They take a lot of inspiration from any knowledge they acquire and transpose it to their benefit in an exaggerated form. Yes, the research also is for building up plot, and making sure everything's going as intended too.

He left because that's where he had planned to end the show. There weren't any drastic changes to the show after S5, I just feel like they put in a lot more filler or at least stretched out a season when two seasons could have easily fit in one.

It's one of my favorite TV shows ever. I'm behind a few seasons, but that's because I think nothing topped Season 5.

Fair enough. I get social anxiety too. I've skipped Kendo classes for the exact same reason you skipped your walk. When I do go (at least once a week) I try to have as much fun as I can, and it helps that the people from this club are decent humans.
