I haven't played this game either. I think the game came out when there were just too many Zombie games out and I didn't want this from Naughty Dog. I just rejected it and was like no. No more zombies. At least you didn't pay full price though. Or did you? 
The wonderful thing about Dishonored is that it does stealth the right way and makes it fun. If you get caught, oh well, time for a knife fight boys, and you have a chance of winning. Other stealth games like Metal Gear, or Assassins Creed, when you get caught, the fun stops and it's time to do it all again and again.
I would rather play 13-2 and 13-3 than the first game even if it has a higher visual quality. I think 13-1 had a longer dev time as well. Anyway, these games are all about the combat for me so the visuals didn't bother me too much. The customization of the gear sets is really great too.
I think 13-1 had more CGI than 13-2. I'm not expecting lots of CGI throughout this game. I played on PS3, so I don't know about xbox?
LOL! And the starting area in the demo is a night club!
Hello! I hear you. 13 is probably one of the most polarizing game in the series. But I like the action style combat and open areas.
And stripper poles everywhere!

It's pretty fun. I played through it again.
I only saw the opening cutscene. The one where Lightning fights Snow at the disco. Not sure if youtube has HD version, but the in-game looks crisp!
