It was an excellent send off for the NES. Kirby often graces an aging system with a great game (NES, SNES, N64, GBA, and DS come to mind).

I'll admit it, I thought this topic seemed dull before I listened to the show but it turned out to be quite interesting. I was especially intrigued by what everybody thought in the bit on age-appropriate gaming. My son is just two right now but I know I'll be dealing with this stuff before I know it.
John touched on one of my fears when it comes to game ratings. He was saying how NC-17 is basically dead because of being able to release unrated movies. I worry games might catch on to something like that eventually. Our industry has a bad enough image to the ignorant public (you know, those folks who don't need to know anything about a subject to have a heated opinion on it). I don't think we're close to that yet but triple-A gamemakers tend to be so obsessed with hollywood
Good show, guys, keep it up!
Collectable card games are all but dead...on traditional consoles at least. They are actually experiencing a resurgence on mobile and PC/Mac. Hearthstone (a World of Warcraft spinoff) is the big one. I've actually played it a little bit (the main game is free to download but the DLC costs money) and like it a lot, but you really need to play regularly to get the most out of it and that's difficult for me right now. CFC reminds me of that in that you put out minions in Hearthstone but the game ends when one of the players gets to 0 HP. It's a really cool game! Some others that come to mind are Sol Forge and Nightfall.
Is that a Pocket Color or the original model? Did you get that recently? I've heard lots of good things about that system.
I have Alan Wake but haven't gotten around to it yet. Backloggers finished up FFX (which I didn't participate in) and I'm hoping Angelo will decide to tackle Alan Wake in October. He's been talking about it for a year or more now. I think I'll probably love it.
Sounds like a good choice! I totally agree with the "those games aren't out yet and I've got tons of cool stuff already" mentality. My wife is the one really pushing to get a PS4, actually lol. And congrats on the 3DS. I love my XL. If only I had more time to play it Still not sure what I'm going to do about the New 3DSes though...
I think a show about Gordon could be really cool and seeing all those familiar characters so early on in their lives/careers has lots of potential. I saw a comercial, though, that showed an already active Selina Kyle...even though Bruce Wayne was still a boy. Man, she must be a lot older than him in this version
I came across that list when I started to branch out in what I was reading. It's how I discovered WE3. Not everything on there interests me but most of them do.
Sounds better than the Tails levels in Sonic Adventure 2!
Which is saying something because they're already quite good. Looking forward to what comes next!
You never know what you'll find and that's what's exciting about it. Good finds can be rare but man, sometimes they're really good.
