What Game Do You Want To Master? (BaD 16)

League of Legend and DOTA 2 come to mind, but I don't want to invest that much time into anything. I think games like the Demon/Dark Souls games can be very fulfilling and rewarding if you practice enough. Taking down bosses and opening new areas feels really great.

Think I'm the only one into console wars? Think again! Read this!

I read a story about customers buying XBOXOnes just to play the Titan Fall Beta. The game is releasing on PC and 360 so I don't know how many potential customers MS loses if the game is not exclusive. I recently read a thread on Neogaf that claims a low end video card runs Titan Fall better than XBOne. I might play the PC version myself if I decide to pick up the game some time.

This game certainly gave you a lot of content to digest and talk about. I still don't know what the hell the game is about? Something about a moon? From listening it seems like the game is terrible. Is it a bad game you played for laughs? Just wondering.

Yeah. This is how I feel. It's mostly nostalgia and story analysis that I'm replaying the game. It really isn't scary at all with the outdated graphics. Amnesia and Machine for Pigs is better at that sort of thing nowadays, but I still very much enjoy what the SH series offers. SH1 baits you into combat, which is kind of bad, and that's the issue I was pointing out. The graphics are very blocky. I understand why it wasn't ported into the HD collection since they would have had to basically remake the entire game, and it doesn't play as well as other games in the genre or series. I want to move on to Clock Tower at some point.

So in SH1, did you use melee weapons or guns? It seems easier to use guns, but then you waste ammo doing that. The controls are similar to SH2, but it does seem like everything jumps in your way and attacks constantly. I do find it more challenging the newer games. Enemies are respawning because I was back tracking to solve puzzles and areas I cleared definitely had enemies show up there again.

This is true. I just feel that my time is too precious to be game overed cheaply and have to re-tread through lost progress. I don't mind a challenge, but frustration is no fun.

So you will have more time to blog. Great!

I don't have Bravely Default either, and it seems to be a really long game and if its good now, it will be good a year or two from now so Im not in a rush.

Hmmm. I'll eventually get to this game some day. Just too much on my schedule and back log. I wonder where it stands on the horror game scale?

Silent Hill 2 HD - Foggy Memories

I played Origins on PSP when it launched. I thought it was pretty good, but not compared to SH2. I'm actually spending more time outside of the SH2 game just reading about theories and mythology of the game. Its kind of like Dark Souls in that way. They just dont write interesting games like that any more.

I think SH3 is also a fan favorite of the series. Im playing through SH1, although its a bit tough because the game is kind of old and outdated, but it is essential for lore background. The issue with the rest of the games in the series is that they became kind of stale and the story peaked with SH2. Shattered Memories is a reimagining of SH1, and is probably easier to play than SH1. SH4 is loosely connected to SH2, mostly due to characters mentioned in text files from 2 and the thing about holes in the wall. I still much prefer the Resident Evil series, but I really want to complete this series as well, since I have time and all. You should just play 3 now since it is another fan favorite, or try Origins since it is a prequel and predates Downpour and Homecoming.
