BaD Four

I've always wanted to play Grim Fandango, but haven't been able to yet.

Before Conker's Bad Fur Day, Rare had him in a more family friendly 3-D platformer on the N64 and I played a preview version of it at E3 one year.  I was really looking forward to it, so I was disappointed when they decided to make him be in a more adult game.

Forgotten Gaming Mascots #3: Karnov

In cat breeding terms, 'blue' is just another word for 'gray.'  I'm not sure WHY that is, but that's it.  Russian Blues are very pretty cats, though.  And smart, too!  I taught my old cat Chekov how to play fetch, open doors, and even use the toilet instead of the litter box.  I'm not joking either!

My gosh, how many Karnov games do you want?  Data East put him EVERYWHERE back then.  I mean, he was even an enemy in the Russian stage of TumblePop!

I never had a 2600 as a kid so I don't have any special memories with these gamse.  But even if I did have a 2600, I'd probably be more interested in the arcade ports and such.

BaD 4: World of Tennis: Roaring '20s

I just can't get into tennis video games.  Not even Mario Tennis.  Just feels like glorfied Pong to me.

However, there is ONE tennis game I did like: SEGA Superstars Tennis.  I think it was on the PS2 and GameCube, and starred a bunch of SEGA characters playing tennis.  They also had tennis style mini games based on SEGA games, too.  Like Space Harrier and ChuChu Rocket themed tennis game challenges.  It was really neat.

Of course, another reason why I liked that game was Ulala was a playable character.  Any game with her in it can't be all bad, right? :)

I think these games were more popular in Europe, too.  Never played them, myself.

BaD Two and Three

Never played Last of Us.  I hated how Jak & Daxter went from a charming game to a unnecessary dark and gritty sequel for no apparent reason.

I freaking love this game.  Rented the NES version all the time as a kid, and my brother Jeff and I played it on a PSOne collection when he was little.

BaD 3: Comics Day 1

I was at a discount store the other day and they had packages of old comic books you could buy.  But they were all X-Men and Fantastic Four stuff that didn't interest me.  Except according to the covers, apparently She Hulk was part of the Fantastic Four for a while I guess.

BaD 03: The No Theme, Theme - Music Video

Remember when music videos were super popular in the 80's?  I remember when we first got cable and I'd see all these commercials where people were saying "I want my MTV!"  I had no idea what MTV was when I was a little kid and saw those commercials.  I thought it was just a special kind of TV.

Forgotten Gaming Mascots #3: Karnov

In the Japanese version of his game, Karnov is actually a bad guy.  Kind of like Wario before Wario even existed.

Karnov is probably forgotten because his company, Data East, is out of business.  He did show up in a lot of games, though!

When I was a kid, I had a Russian Blue cat and I wanted to give him a Russian name.  But I was just a little kid and didn't know any Russian names.  My dad suggested Chekov, after the guy from Star Trek, so we went with that.  I'm not even a big Star Trek fan either.  But If I got another Russian Blue cat, I know what I would name it: Karnov!
