New podcast episode with Super Step is online!

Posted on 08/11/2014 at 02:53 AM | Filed Under Blogs

I listened to about half of your podcast. I think the premise is interesting, something old and something new, but it was super long. I would aim for 30-40 min, or at max 60-90 min. I also think there are too many topics. If you are gonna cover books, movies, comics, etc maybe they should have a connecting theme. I'm just offering constructive criticism since your podcast is new. You don't need to listen to me. Good job!

I missed out on the PC game. I thought the show was great!

The show had really great characters. Aside from the character designs, it is also one of the last sci-fi shows to feature large beautiful background sets that make it feel like it's otherworldly. The show does take weird directions, but the chemistry between the characters had me coming back for more. I watched all 4 seasons, and sometimes go back and revisit my favorite episodes. I think you missed out on a great series. Cry

A couple of characters come to mind from recent films I've seen. One is Thor 2 The Dark World or whatever. In Thor 1 and Avengers Loki was the villain, but in Thor 2 he is more of a hero/anti-hero you are meant to get behind. He was put in prison for destroying Asgard and NYC, but Thor kind of did the same to London? Anyhow, this has more to do with the actor that plays Loki, and he is pretty fun to watch.

Also most Tarantino films.

I only saw X-Men, Guardians and Spider-Man 2.
X-Men is my fav comic book and film series. As much as I enjoy Avengers and Captain America, I still prefer the the X-Men and especially First Class and now Days. I cannot wait for Apocolypse!

Spiderman 2
I really didn't enjoy the first movie or the guy that plays Peter Parker, but I did like the costume. Same for the sequel. I really didn't like it. I think I'm getting past the splosiony action movies now.

Gaurdians
Speaking of splosions, I do read comics from time to time, but Guardians was out of my comic knowledge, and I don't recall ever reading about them so it was a fresh start. In short, I really loved it! This movie reminds me a lot of a TV show called Farscape. In it a human astronaut ends up on a space ship with wierd aliens and go on adventures around space. It has more of a goofy sense of humor about itself, and cool looking alien creatures. I felt like watching Guardians, I was watching farscape on the big screen-- which is to say it was cool!

I hates Wahlberg, so no Transformers for me. Apes? meh. TMNT? meh. I'll wait for the rental.

I would probably place A Link to the Past above Ocarina, but just slightly. I really didn't like the forced wolf levels in Twilight. If I recall correctly, there were parts in the game where your progress was stopped to play collection minigames as a wolf or something. I don't hate Twilight, but I remember hating that part.

Also, I grew up in the 90s and even I have a hard time listening to that music now but mostly because I remember a lot of it being very dark and depressing. Even rap and hip-hop were in their gangsta rap phase, and metal/rock was all grunge and industrial. I have to put myself in a dark place to be able to listen to it. I know a lot of alternative music was out in the 90s, but much of it was dark.

For reference this is what I remember being hot in the 90s:
Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins, NIN, Marilyn Manson, Korn, Rage Against the Machine, Garbage, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, No Doubt, Tool, Alice In Chains, Radiohead, etc.

I don't think these bands were all bad, and I don't like all of them, but it was everywhere and pretty depressing.

Also, I love the WiiU Gamepad for old NES games.

Well I couldn't find the original post that angered the readers in the first place, but it seems ZI was scolding their readers for submitting links to a story with a misleading headline. I'm assuming that ZI gets part of it's news sources from reader submissions, and they all failed to read the full article before submitting it. ZI verified the original article was bogus, and posted anyway to teach readers a lesson? LOL! That is no way to treat your followers. They would have gained more respect if they pointed out the problem in the first place and called out Destructoid for their unverified source.

Bad on you ZI!Yell

And here is the article in question from Destructoid in case you were wondering:
