Defiance is FTP. I've never really played a shooter MMO. So far, I already have a cool vehicle to get around in. There are other people on the server, and we're all working together so far. I kind of like it. It is ugly as hell though. May try it out on PC, since it's FTP on PC too. 

Demon's Souls. I think Dark Souls is easier. It is made with more focus on Coop, which is a criticism I have with it. I try to solo through these games, and so I feel it can be more challenging playing alone, or having some wierd build. That's how I have fun with them. Others, I imagine love to coop and pvp, which I don't. I might be missing out. I think Demon's Souls is closer to a survival horror of the 90s for me, and that's what drew me in. 

Why didn't you enjoy the game? 

 Food?
If it's a UFC weekend, and it is,  then I'm BBQing! Burgers are easy. That or pizza and beer?  

I was more of a console kid, so my exposure to FPS came from arcades, games like Virtua Cop light gun games. Aside from that it was probably 007 Golden Eye like Nick, most likely was my first console FPS, and probably RE light gun games on PSOne or PS2? I forget? Then there were also the Call of Duty games and SOCOM. Does Metroid Prime count?

I honestly didn't get into shooters until Halo and the XBOX original. I was just never into them. I'm only now going back and trying out older games as a video game archivist, sort of. I've yet to get through System Shock or Half-life 2. Please don't shoot me!   I heard they were good games from someone on pixlbit. ; )

I'm finishing off my MMO summer with more ArchAge beta and some Defiance (PS3). I might watch a bit of the TV series to complete the experience, Defiance that is, not ArchAge. 

I need to play more of Operation Racoon City to find out if I hate it or not? I've been meaning to get back to Resident Evil REmake on Gamecube and finish off Killer 7 as well. So much gaming goodness! No time to play though.

Also, Demon's Souls. I've put it off for a week. I'll get it done though.  
Literature
I've been meaning to compile a book list for the rest of the year instead of watching TV. I've read that binge reading is a bad thing or something, but I'm just not as interested in TV or movies at the moment.
What should I read? Classics? Current Top 20? Fantasy? Reading lists are hard! 

I water down sweet drinks when ever I can. All that sugar sounds painful.

I was going to hold off until Bloodborne.

 

I think it would have been much worse if this game was releasing this year. But having to wait like a year after Holiday 2015, like Holiday 2016 for PC and PS4 would really suck! I wouldn't buy an XBoxOne for this game though. 

Well, who knows how far along Silent Hills is? I don't like what Kojima did to Castlevania,  but I'm glad to see Silent Hills is being considered for a revamp.

It's a trend that seems to be reviving. I think devs are tired of zombies. I want space shooters to come back in fashion too. Rogue Squadron, Star Fox, etc.

How long is the demo?

I'm at the point where I can use some soul farming.
