I would say that most people would agree with you. Not only did we get sentinels, finally, but also x-men use their full powers and at war from the very beginning of the movie. Plus they brough back the original x-men from the first movie which was a huge surprise. People screamed in my movie theatre when they saw Jean Grey and Cyclops still alive at the end.
I just felt like this game was too hard. I was in a casual mood when I got this and I got frustrated easily. Might give it another go some time.
X is a prequel.
To be fair, the connection is only made in a Japanese game journal and cut scene in X-2 where an excavation team is trying to extract Matera or whatever it's called to use as energy but they can't until the far future. If I remember anything about 10-2, those materia orbs you hunted contained visions of the future, thus they were able to see the use of "materia" in the future. There are a lot of connections to the world besides this.
I think this happened with FF 10 and 12. SE wanted to make the games more appealing to teens, so they got very anime and PG. This was one of the reasons that the director for FF12 left Square and Vaan and Penelo were made the lead characters when they weren't going to be in the game at all.
Actually, you are right! In the video it is stated that FFX came before 7. Mind blown again!
How is X a prequel?
We can stop holding our breathe now. Relief! I really like Crisis Core and Type-0 so I have hope for this game. Crisis Core guy is working on 15 now. The 13 director isn't involved with these games.
You would think with so many know-it-all FF fans that this would be more common knowledge, but I had never even heard of this. I'm familiar with connections between FF12 and Vagrant Story, but never this? Hmm. Go figure. I feel like replaying 7 & 10 now and look for connections. This gonna be good!
