I put that title on my list for 1990. Your comment got me to read this (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Commander_Keen#Creation_and_development ) about its development. Now I'm even more KEEN to play it.
Inspired by Duck Dodgers in the 24 1/2 Century? Oh my yes!!!
You had to have had an Apple computer in the late 80's. That's what I had with me when I went off to college. I used it for writing papers, and also for games.
I saw Zak McKracken in looking through game lists recently. I'd love to try it sometime.
I like them, but I never get very far in them. At some point they all become too much work. But I usually love the first bunch of levels. You know, the easier ones.
Ah, I almost went. I'll get to one someday.
I really want to play Pokemon Conquest.
Dragon Warrior Warriors could be more of an isometric action RPG like Baldur's Gate. That would be cool.
Kirby would just gobble up hoards of ancient fighting men and then spit them out. You'll hear them cry, "ahhhh" every time. Wee fun!
How about Wolfenstein Warriors. Blazkovitz would say something like, "What the F is this?" when handed a sword, but then be all, "Now this is my kind of boom!" when he gets to use a cannon.
No, I got all that. I'm no grammar or spelling Nazi.
I don't know the real story, but it could well be that the ports didn't sell well and so the IP got shelved. The Mac version is still held in high regard. It's becoming a collector's item too. It was some pricey price on some selly sell site I saw it on.
I want to finish Monkey Island too. I just bought the sequel on a Xbox Live sale. I think I'll probably look up what I missed in that one spot sometime and continue it.
They were fucked up days for me too, but in my 20s.
