Much like Peter and his reply to me about Vesperia, Xillia gets better as you go along. Give it another try some time when you're in the mood for a long rpg.

I'll give it another try later, then. I'll have to start over, though, because I don't remember much.

I should go back and finish the future part in Graces myself. And what didn't you like about Xillia? Also how far did you get?

Yeah, I deleted the initial post, it had some serious formatting issues and it was easier to trash it and start over than to find the problems and fix them.

I'd say skip Vesperia and just move on to Xillia. I had a hard time getting interested in Vesperia for some reason and it sits, unplayed except for maybe the first 30 minutes, on my shelf collecting dust. Had a hard time putting Xillia down.
