The game is really fun in my opinion. I'm surprised to hear you haven't finished the game yet as I thought the game was supposed to be rather short. I guess I'm not including side missions, which I'm also knocking out as they are available.
Wow! What a super long review! I'm getting a good impression overall from your experience. I feel that the atmosphere and visuals are the most immersive I've seen in any game this generation and I think the game is worth trying out just for that alone. I haven't gotten to the Alien or combat parts yet. So far I'm just on the space station turning on the lights and I get a Metroid Fusion feel from the lock & key game design. I might just pace myself 1 or 2 save points a day until I finish it. One issue I have with a lot of reviewers over this game is that they are all rushing through it to get to other games, which is quite annoying. I've been pacing myself through Evil Within, Borderlands and Mordor and they are going to last me a long while because of it. Slow your roll! Great Review man! I shall take great interest in your future game reviews from now on! Now go play Evil Within and cross reference to Alien. Also try out Lords of the Fallen which all the Souls fans are raving about. I will.
I also found the devs webpage to be very vague and kind of stupid. As much as people like to complain about social changes in vidja games, games haven't changed that much yet. And the ones that have are better for it. Borderlands has cool chicks in it, and Evil Within is supposed to get some DLC starring one of the female character to round out the story. There is also a Japanese dude in Evil Within as the side kick and guess what, the game was not totally ruined for it! So the HATRED devs can fuck off with "we are against" change. They're full of shit and I don't need to know if their racists or not to not like them. Oh and also Alien Isolation has a lead chick in it too and who gives a fuck?! The game is great! 
Also there is also already a game where you can slaughter tons of non-white people called Mordor. (*intended humor)
I have the PC version. I just started it. Lotta darkness. Lotta! Is there any gunplay or melee in this game or does the whole game play out the way it is in the beginning? It really does look like a movie though.

I would be interested in the Alien Isolation review as I've been putting it off after I heard about how long the game was. I was going to start it this weekend.
I've been playing Mordor as well. I felt pretty overwhelmed by it and I'm still getting used to it. It feels grindier than the new Borderlands which is odd.

You sure are into this game. I just got into Concordia. Haven't unlocked hooverbikes yet. I'm like level 10. I just play a bit each day and I'm enjoying it.
Yes! It's a great game. I might actually finish this Borderlands for the first time. I really like the soundtrack too. It's one of my favorite things about this game. I'm playing as the dude with a shotgun. He can summon support drones for extra fire. Quite cool. I unlocked the buggies and have enjoyed speeding across the maps rather then running around. The jump pads are really fun!
