The addictive habit is the part I'm afraid of. It's a cool habit, but looking at the time I've spent with all these games makes me wonder if should be doing something else more productive with it. I'm just pondering.

This is one of my favorite articles I've read all year Julian. I'm sorry about your life things, I hope things get better and I'm glad you decided to share the ordeal, pretty brave to share such heavy stuff actually. I feel like sharing and discussing issues with random strangers can also be helpful sometimes.
Also, I guess people find their own personal ways of dealing with life issues. I personally enjoy long walks, and jogs or fitness type things. Sometimes when things are so hard you just don't want to see the sunshine so I just get into a nice long game, book or pull out some old comics and read them all. Oh and alcohol. Yeah alcohol. Mmmmm.
For me, playing through survival horror games helps me relieve a bit of stress from time to time. Surviving through a horror game can make you feel so good at the end of it. That's my personal game thing when life sucks. I really love Diablo 3. I stopped playing after the first release and just got into the expansion for PC when it went on sale recently. It's pretty damned great now honestly!
Here. For best article 2014 a award you with hello kitty ribbon!
I actually already have this game installed and I couldn't figure out how to play it? It looks really good, but it was a bit confusing. I need to get back to it at some point.
Really enjoyed the podcast guys. Great job!
At its core the game is mostly combat focused, and as I'm progressing through the game I still find the combat repetative and tedious. The stealth is okay, but the constant need to search for health items and arrows is really annoying. The game has a lot of content but it honestly feels like it's all just endgame content. I'm aware of Julian's review and that's the reason I'm playing through to the end, but I'm finding it very difficult to do so.
I dont get what you are debating me about? Basically I'm right? Most new Sonic games are bad and everytime a new one comes out, its supposed to make things all better.
He has good taste. You have done well mothman. You have done well.
Oh? Was that the Wii game? Was it good? I heard Generations was good, and I don't know how that new WiiU Sonic went? Now there is a muscly Knuckles, and I don't know what else they are doing to Sonic nowadays.
Although I bash the game at the beginning, I do point out the positive and think there is enough to check out. I do think the combat is Ad Naseum here which is my real issue as well as the ugly world, but thats more of a personal taste. The bad things just bother me a lot more than most and I was wondering why people have defended the game so much?
This isn't about "I'm right, you are wrong" type of article. By all means I do think there are progressive gameplay ideas that are very next gen present here. For starters, it's open world. You can take on quests in any order you like, run in any direction you like, that is great. You can fast travel, so you don't have to walk long distances all the time. That's great for an open world game. The story is kind of cool. You see Mordor before it fell, I think? The AI is pretty unique and new too. Enemies basically hunt you down with their own little armies, and when you fight a captain they usually get a lot of back up make it kind of hard. The combat is very much like AC and Batman games, which I've never really loved. There is a lot of it here. A lot. After about 10 hours, I'm kind of meh with combat. I do have powerups though, so it gets better I guess. Oh, and the Captains have unique personalities and talk a lot of shit, which makes things interesting.
