Even if a game is great, sometimes it just won't click with me when I first try it out. This happened to me with Demon's Souls and Dragon Age 2. My opinions do tend to change from time to time. I will love something then hate it, or hate something then love it. You have to be all in or completely out on a game, which is just dumb.
It's not just about taste. Recently a reviewer from Polygon, stated that they always give the benefit of the doubt to game developers when they have bad launches because games are hard to make? WTF? Nintendo puts out an unfinished game, yet Polygon is always trashing them wanting Disney to buy and save them or some bullshit like that. Just nonsense!
I do love adventure games. I just finished The Wolf Among Us which I thought was just awesome, so I started reading Fables, the comic it's based on from Vertigo and it is really good too. With Hotel Dusk, I just pick it up and play here and there and approach it like a book. It's very dialogue heavy. Looks so good too.
I'm glad they mixed in other Mario game levels. I though it was like a DLC game with only Mario Bros 1 from NES. Looks like fun. I'd like to try out community designed games, but I don't know if it will have that capability like Little Big Planet?
I read Death in the family and a lot of what Scott Snyder wrote. The Dark Knight 3 thing was all over the internet. Just google Dark Knight 3 Frank Miller.
I enjoyed The Wolf Among us enough that I started reading the comics. I'd say the game is much more colorful fast paced, while the colors in the comic seem a bit muted and investigations seem to go on for a long time. I'm not sure if all the story arcs are like this. It starts of with Bigby and Snow in Fabletown and is like a prequel. I'll keep reading.
I read the other Snyder thing, about the ocean creatures. I need to get on Wytches.
And I don't mind an MMO of a game. I do feel that Star Wars The Old Republic MMO should have been the third Knights of the Old Republic game instead of making everybody pay a subscription for it. It's free to play, but still. I don't mind MMOs as long as they don't forget about console games.
I really want to see the new expansion. It just looks so freaken cool, floating islands and flying chocobos and new regions. Neat!
For an MMO, I do think that the game is worth a subscription. The game gives you a lot. I really wish some of those art designers would make a full console game like Dragon Age or something.
There was a sequel to 4 in sprite form and everything. I should say that I did enjoy the PSOne games, I was just lamenting that Square hasn't revisited older themes in a long time except for side games like Bravely Default.
It was kind of mean actually. It really didnt need a stage announcement when it was quietly released on PS3 and Steam with little press. I'd say it only served to piss people off.
