Sports games have become too complicated, probably more complicated than some strategy RPGs.
I'm usually a lone wolf when it comes to games, even MMOs where I usually just run with randoms. So all the MMOs with combined hours I'd say make up most of my online gaming time. I remember playing Phantasy Star Online on Dreamcast a lot back in the day, and lately it's been online Smash Bros.
As for GuildWars2, hopefully you can get proper internet by the time the new content patch rolls out. I was holding off until then to jump back in. There is supposed to be a new class I think.
I own Valkyria Chronicles. I've played SRPGs, but just a few of them, like less than 5. Final Fantasy Tactics, Tactics Ogre and Fire Emblem, but I didn't try to play other games like them. I was mostly referring to SRPGs from PC like Might & Magic etc. Blackguards 2 is hex based, but it plays like a Japanese SRPG so it was easy to get into, and no permadeath.
The thing about Stand Alone Complex is that I was only ever able to see it once a week light at night when it first aired. I think it still runs late at night on weekends, but I was able to watch episodes back-to-back on streaming sites like Hulu.
I think I was put off by stargate because there are so many episodes. Universe is the shortest, then Atlantis but SG1 has tons of episodes making it hard to catch up on. I really like the show though.
Stargate Universe is pretty good. It's the one closest to Star Trek and it has like 2 seasons I think. Basically, it takes place on a spaceship and it's about trying to get back home, so it's like Voyager but with space marines.
I own the Firefly boxset. I also watched a bit of Warehouse but it was cancelled I think?
I get the cost part, but there were just so many a few years ago and now there are none. I think Voyager, Deep Space 9, Farscape, Stargate and Battlestar were all on TV very close to eachother. Defiance is more of a drama, and Doctor Who is fun, but I miss space.
If you think the 3DS can run a Wii game with a 1:1 ratio then that is an acheivement in itself. While I would have liked an HD remake, we are getting that with new Xenoblade, but this way more people will be able to experience the classic game.
