
Pokemon Shuffle is basically Puzzle Quest, or more accurately Puzzle n' Dragons on mobile which is super popular. The game isn't revolutionary or new, it's just a skinned version of PnD and it limits your amount of gameplay with a timer, which is fine if you just want to play a bit each day, but the game is built around leveling pokemon and grinding and you see the problem. Imagin play a regular Pokemon game where you had to level your pokemon by grinding, except you could only play battles with a limited amount of turns unless you spend real currency to buy more turns.
Nintendo said they wouldn't do this. But yeah, its a bad design for games IMO.
This series isn't just bitching for the sake of bitching. These news items are reflecting symptoms that hurt games and game development. Nintendos Pay To Win game is a bad idea for its console. Order 1886 might be longer than the outraged first believed, but from reviews it is a very 'last gen' game which is cause for worry on new gen systems, and KickStarter doesn't always have successful outcomes, watchout for deceivers. These topics should be of interest and to gaming enthusiasts especially.
