What? WHAT?? This seems like a crazy thing you to say, Cary. Odyssey not click with you? (I can't wait to play Odyssey.)

I wanted to encourage you to get the import Xbox One version of Raiden V but I just looked it up on Amazon and it's really expensive You should definitely get your shmup on though. There's no shortage of games to play.
The opening is in a warehouse and then a water treatment plant. Those are very gray and brown and rusty. But after that you head to a big office building and it gets much more visually interesting.
I'm glad this story had a happy ending
This game came out before Gears of War popularized actually popping into cover so yeah, it's a little awkward how you just have to hang around a corner and then move out and shoot and then move back. I play it a little more run and gun than it's intended though, I think, thanks to the slo-mo powers. Plus they give you so many health packs! I think playing this game on a harder difficulty would defeat the point of the game since it's really not about the shooting
Congrats on the baby! Babies are great. Sleep deprivation isn't but you gotta take the good with the bad lol. As for Visceral Games closing, while it is definitely sad...they made only two really good games, Dead Space 1 and 2 (was Extraction them as well? I liked Extraction a lot). So while closing them now, now that they were returning to a style of game they've done well before (linear single player action) and they had Amy Hennig to help with the story, it seemed premature. Maybe not a bad decision in the grand scheme of things but certainly a bad time for it.
Your opinion is harsher than some others I've read but the consensus is about the same. It sucks because I had the same reaction as you when I discovered this game existed. I just wasn't willing to plop down the money sight unseen lol
I've finished it now and definitely enjoyed it. I have some quibbles (more on that next month!) but it has a great endgame.
When I get a Switch, I wanna get Axiom Verge. Yes, it's available elsewhere but really feels like it will be a great fit for the Switch
Do you have a Vita? God Eater 2--as well as the remake of the first game--are available on the Vita. It's cross play and cross save between the two systems, but unfortunately not cross buy -__- GE Resurrection has been on sale already and the second game will likely follow suit at some point, so keep an eye out!
I think the value proposition with the Destiny games is directly proportional to how many friends you have playing the game and how dedicated they are. I feel that I've definitely already gotten my money's worth out of it and I haven't finished the raid or even started a second character yet!
