I agree. But I think the controversy that's forming has more to do with the responsibilty of the reviewer to tell the audience that the game isn't for casual players, and if it isn't for everybody, then it shouldn't be highly praised. Not my opinion, but that seems to be the opinion in the article and a new one on Forbes website where he actually takes issue with journalists for praising the game.

I wanted to try out Pilllars. I was waiting for reviews to hit. It looks rad. Wasteland looks rad too. I only really tried out Divinity Original sin when it released and it is quite an amazing game. In any case, I wouldn't mind trying the games out if you want to part with a code.

I just finished Atelier Shallie. It's quite good and made me a new fan of the series. I'm also playing Hyperdevotion Noire on PSVita. These games are pretty long and grindy and super japanese, in other words its anime heaven! I recommend a long ass JRPG if you have free time.  Cool

and isn't this how these games work, isn't it part of the appeal? You have to break through the surface first before getting to the real substance. And as for rewards? Yeah, I usually play with a basic weapon as much as I can before upgrading, and I can usually get pretty far before upgrading, or I'll at least try different weapons until I get a feel for one. I also run around naked unless there is poison or whatever. But still, it's very typical of the type of complaints people had about Demon's Souls, so it's to be exptected I guess.

Zelda Wii U delayed till 2016

I hope it does come to NX, especially if it's more portable as some speculate NX will be. I'd like a bit more processing power behind this open world experience anyway. Or it might just be delayed on WiiU, whatever.

Bloodborne Impressions

Why did people think this game was going to be easy and made for casual players? Everything I've read about it is that the Director of Dark Souls started on Bloodborne after Dark Souls 1, and this is his response to people thinking his games were easy. It sounds like it's one of those sequels that are actually harder then the previous entry, like in the 8-bit days. Isn't that what all gamers should want?

I hope they fix loading time with a patch. I just can't imaging playing a Souls game and then waiting to get back in after every kill. Oh Hell No!

Life is Crazy and some Board Games!

I'm with you on the gaming front when it comes to new consoles, but I do tend to play PC and Indie games as well, so I don't exactly share the lack of enthusiasm for gaming. I also play WiiU and PSVita, so I feel like I never have enought time to play everything. I just got a bunch of classic games fromt he $1 PSN sale this weekend to add to my backlog, but I've been jumping in and out of them here and there.

I'm probably goint to end up waiting another year for a PS4 on XBoxOne. PC has enought games to keep me busy as it is. As for Bloodborne, the loading times that I keep hearing about the game makes me hope they patch it up by the time I get around to it. I can't imagin a Souls game with all of the death involved being gated by load times. I hope it's an exageration.

Do we call you Mr. Miller now since you got married? Cool
And actually, I think Resident Evil Revelations 2 is really good as is Atelier Shallie (PS3) and Hyperdevotion Noire (PSVita). Yes. There are great games to play on last gen. Represent! Cool But then again, I've always been more of a retro gamer at heart.

Oh! And welcome back! Aren't you a comics guy too? We have a bunch of comic book shows on tv since you left. Maybe blog about those?

No. I haven't beaten it yet. I'm just playing off and on. I'm finding it kind of tough. These older platformers made you start from the beginning and do it all again when you lose, not like today's games for babies. I find it challenging though which is engaging.
