Same here, give or take some of my more nuanced thoughts on censorship. 

 I just converted my ITunes songs to other file formats to get them on the station, and since someone paid for me to have those, I feel it's my right to do whatever the hell I want with them as long as I'm not making unfair profit from these possessions. Fuck if I'm gonna put up with DRM, which limits my experience comparitive to people actually foregoing payment, in lieu of just doing everything I can to get what I fucking paid for. 

 Now in a normal case, it would be wrong of me to broadcast these songs in an effort to get ears on my radio station, but keep in mind we have the proper BMI/ASCAP etc. licenses to play pretty much any alt rock song we come across. 

It's all good, I literally only watched an average of about a movie a month last year, hence why I'm getting to last year's stuff now. 

I think LEGO Movie's Batman is friggin' hilarious, since those quotes put us on the topic. lol

It uh ... yeah, I'll do another one to make up for it. lol

Not Nintendo, I think Sega made that Shinobi's Revenge GBA game I returned. 

Culture Club hour ain't gonna happen. lol We've asked them to play more variety during their CL (Classic Hits shifts), and I dunno that I could tolerate a full hour of dance music from the same band when I'm in my office. lol Nothing against them, but damn.

This has nothing to do with math on my end. 

All I or this prof's other students are doing is being his pilot study people for his media research on gender roles in advertising. 

He will have to do some stats stuff like Chi squares etc., but all we're doing is:

Watching an advertisinement

Noting what major characters appear in an advertisement. 

Coding/describing whether the characters would be considered male or female, alpha or beta, domestic or non domestic, some other "uncodeable" category, and whether the announcer is male or female, something else, or there is no voice track on the ad. 

The only math I'm having to do is count the number of domestic alpha females or beta non-domestic males etc. in any given ad. 

Yeah, that can happen with any paid rental service. My mom actually left a movie in her glove box thinking she returned it ... then we returned it ... then we realized we shoulda kept it.

I think she called them and got some form of compensation, though, like maybe a free rental or purchase (I believe they do allow you to purchase from the kiosk, but you'd be getting a rental copy with no extras and only a clear case).

Yeah, there are 292 ads I had (/will have to, procrastinated a bit) to tell my professor the following for:

Male vs. Female vs. Both vs.None for V.O.

And then for major characters in an ad, I had to tell him

1. Male or Female 

2. Beta or Alpha

3. Domestic or Non-Domestic

4. Other

He's doing content analysis research on gender/sex in ads, so he's using us as his pilot study coder group.
