Saw this movie today and really liked it. I was afraid it would be drowned by nerd pop culture references, like the book seemed to at times, but I think Spielberg saved it from that and made a really engaging story with strong characters.

I feel like I'm gaming a bit too much right now, but that's all going to change soon. I'm already planning much more work for myself this summer and the next school year. So guilt aside, I played the heck out of Letter Quest today with Mark. Neither of us could stop. I'm certain to 100% this game in the near future. Here's a nerdy screenshot I made. 

I didn't buy anything on the Spring Sale today. Most of the games I wanted were stuff I'd like to have as physical copies, so even though they were at bargain bin prices, I'll wait to get hard copies later. I looked at the trailer to Thimbleweed Park hoping it was like The Cave, made by some of the same people, but it is a straight up point-and-click adventure. That's cool, but not my bread-and-butter. The puzzle/platformer that was The Cave was more my interest. 

I watched Star Trek The Motion Picture (1979) today, played a whole ton of Letter Quest and then checked out the Spring sale on Xbox today. 

Just saw this today on an IMAX screen. I loved the first one mainly for it's cartoon/anime quality. This one has a better story and takes longer to build, but isn't quite as exciting overall. Good plot twists though. I'll give it that. It was worth the watch. I had to see it on the biggest screen possible. Wish it was in 3D though. Here's the collectible ticket I got: 

Today I packed up Gamefly's Just Cause 3 and joined Game Pass. I started the download for Sea of Thieves and, while I waited, played about 35% of Quantum Condundrum in tandem with Mark. Then I played Sea of Theives for a long while, and then I played Letter Quest the rest of the time. Details below. 

I think I might stop Gamefly rentals and join Game Pass on Xbox One. I want to play games day one and this will let me do it cheaply. Sea of Theives is out and I can jump right in. This will limit what I do on PS4 and 3DS and such, but I probably should narrow my interests anyway. I don't think I'll trade in anything. I still might pick up some games on other systems when there's a sale. So we'll see. I'm kind of excited. I want to get in there with games when everyone else is and get the best multiplayer experiences. I never thought I'd say that, but I'm kind of interested in exploring that right now. So on to today's gaming. 

Seems like a lot of jumping around from game to game but it was mostly Minecraft today because I had Mark to play with; although, he doesn't seem too keen to have me in his game anymore. It's kind of a strange turn of events, so I'm already thinking of other kinds of multiplayer gaming to do. On to the details. 

I decided to go straight 5-year spans. I'm using this list for all media, not just games, so this will make it easier for music, film and books. Here's the revised list with consoles placed in the range where they released, not their life span. In playing the games, I'll stick to a console but play any game that came out for it regardless of release date. 

I was like a vulture today swooping over the local mall, which didn't open in time before I had to go to work, and landing for a quick peck at the dying Toys R Us, which still isn't running a clearance sale, even though they could close any day now. It's just as well, I've been well fed this past week anyway. Over fed, really.
