I figure that number reflects my 25 years worth of gaming since 1995. I've mastered this pastime twice over if you believe in the 10k hours to master a craft idea. Anyway, this is what I did this 2609th day of gaming. 

Just had time for a few hours of Farm Together today 'cause work called me in last minute. But in the morning I had thought of a better way to use those mostly cosmetic trains in the game. 

I played a hefty amount today with some good results. Then I got resupplied with OG Xbox games from my friend and from a few online orders which appeared today. 

I was thinking about blog ideas and it got me looking at my collection. I sorted through my demo discs which I've kept all these years, and it led me on a quest to revisit the Original Xbox. It will be 20 years in November since its release. That will make it like a classic car. I'm going to start with the demo discs of a particular year (the ones I have) and then play a game or two. I've even acquired a few new ones I haven't played before. Should be fun for my weekday gaming. So here's a demo disc I have from around the launch day, I believe, November 2001.

I played a lot of Yakuza 3 today. I'm really enjoying it. This is the remastered version that came out recently with 4 and 5 all on Game Pass on Xbox as well as other systems. I've only dabbled in the Yakuza series here and there. This is the first game I've spent a lot of time with. Let's take a look. 

My new thing lately is to look down the list of new releases and go back in time until I find something I'd like to try. I can play anything on PS4 or Xbox One if it's library rentable, on Game Pass, or just cheap enough to buy. If it's too pricey, I just put it on my wish list for later. This isn't all though. I have Game Pass Rewards to gather and several games I've been playing for months that I like to keep up with. So let's break it down. 

I'm finally following 5 different series but don't really want to start a pull-list with my comic's store. I like to see what's out and make a decision to buy rather than commit to some issues I may not want. I take the risk of certain series being sold out, but that's not too likely since I'm not following a lot of really popular titles, I don't think. Here are today's reads. 

I reinstalled Microsoft Solitare on my phone and got an ad for their Mahjong game. I've been curious about Mahjong recently, so I installed the app. Both are free. It's pretty good and designed similarly to their Solitaire game with daily challenges, leveling, and several ways to play it. It's integrated with Xbox Live so I think I'll get achievements but I haven't gotten one yet. Let's take a closer look. 

I played several hours of this after a Game Pass weekly rewards quest asked me to. I was glad to because I was curious about it. I found it very enjoyable. I think the controls for shooting and using telekinesis powers are excellent. That alone can sell a game to me. I intend to keep playing it in the weeks to come, so let's take a deeper look. 

I finally bit on the sale for Civ VI, just under $20. I, and my gaming buddy, compared it to Civilization Revolution, the console version of Civ that came out in 2008, which we both liked a lot. Civ VI looks much the same but it is a few notches more complex, hence my friend didn't like it as much. He enjoys the military side of the game and I enjoy the growth of cities and areas of influence. Thus, I liked Civ VI more than he did. Well, let's take a closer look.
