I graduated high school in 1986 and was off to college that fall. My parents were generous enough to send me off with a new computer, an Apple Macintosh Plus.

It was 1985, and I was too busy with sports to notice that the home console gaming world was about to revive with the debut of the Nintendo Entertainment System. I was 16.

I was right in the middle of High School when my parents bought their first home computer, the Apple IIc in 1984. I was 17.

I had a friend down the street from my house whose family got the ColecoVision in 1982. The neighborhood kids and I would, with exceeding excitement, go there to play it. I was 15.

I didn't own this back in 1980 when it came to the U.S., but my next door neighbor had one. I spent a lot of time over there playing with him and all the other 13 year old kids that came over.

The Atari Video Comupter System, as it was first called (and thereafter the Atari 2600), was a system my dad bought, Christmas 1978. I was 11.

Tune the wayback machine to 1978 and my first LED handheld game made by Mattel Electronics. All the neighborhood kids had one of these things: either baseball, football, basketball or hockey. There was even a soccer one, but I never played that, I was a baseball fan.
