         Borderlands 2 is really pissing me off. Too many choices. Also, I find it weird that when you’re in a fight, the Badass versions of the enemy are so much harder than the rest of them. I mean, I take a shot at the regular crew and they go down with a couple criticals but badasses, no way, the meter bairly moves for those suckers. I nick off a few points while my same-level gunzerker friend takes big chunks out of them. Then a loot midget appears, a robot one that can transform into a jet, and I’m having the same trouble, just doing hardly any damage despite criticals and my friend tackles it, not easily, but does so in fairly short order. I’m so annoyed! I did notice that although we are at the same skill level, he has logged twice as many hours as I have in the game. I just topped 100 hours and he is well over 200. That probably means his equipment is just better than mine. So, oh well, I gotta run around like a lame duck while my friend mops up all the hard enemy types. BAH!

     My buddy Mark and I have been playing video games for a long, long time. What we play together are mainly run-and-gun style FPSes, action movie stuff with over-the-top attitude to the point of the ridiculous. Comedy is a big part of our collective gaming. Our games have to have a big boom, wild crashes, explosions, or any game that has in its description “destructible environments”. I often think of the SCTV skit Farm Film Celebrity Blow-Up in relation to our gaming.

     Another 10 hours played in this game today. Played it with my friend Mark on True Vault Hunter Mode 'til I threw the controller in disgust. The Assassin class is just a pain! I can do nothing with it! I always end up sitting back and watching my Gunzerker friend Mark tare the place up, while I wait for my shield to recharge, knock tiny dents into robots with my sniper rifle, or run for my life as enemies bull-rush me no matter where I go. We are nearly the same level, with high level weapons appropriate for our class, but I still feel woefully underpowered. I don't get it. 

      It’s March now and I don’t have any preorders this month, so I want to buy something. It’s in the budget so it’s ok, but what do I get? My wishlist is almost 200 games strong. I just can’t decide - Fortune Cookie randomizer on Backloggery.com to the rescue!

     I was at my usual haunt, The Gyphon Café, when I saw they had drawn up some game related signs outside the front door. I thought I’d share them here and start a series called GameSpotting where I post game related photographs.

    I already mentioned that I played Road Rash in Part Six of this blog series, but I kept following the series with Road Rash 3D and Jailbreak. Those were pretty terrible; so instead, I got my destruction racing on with Destruction Derby 2.

     I played about eight hours of Borderlands 2 today with my buddy Mark. We played our own separate games for a while. I was going for rocket splash damage and shotgun point-blank kills in the Challenges, and so I ratcheted down the difficulty because doing close combat with an Assassin on True Vault Hunter mode was getting me killed way too often. I’m happy to find out that the game saves the state of the world for each difficulty mode so you can go back to it later without losing anything.
