I thought I might start a habit of fishing the game stores on Saturdays and hook a few new things to fill out my library of games. I made a list of stuff to cast for (I made it large so I'd at least find something) and headed out to the mall where there is a retro game store and several Gamestops. I was also going there to get some street passes and some Chick-fil-a. Yum! Let's see what the nets brought in this week.

I started the day by picked up 9 Miis by stopping by three different McDonalds on my way over to Mark’s place. I got 4 at one place, 5 at another and none at the one closest to my apartment. I don’t know what’s up with that one McDs, but it never gives me Miis. It’s not a problem though because there are four other McDs I can choose from on my drive to Mark’s place.

I started the day with a mall trip with Mark. Therein is the only retro store around, Jay Street Video Games. I was looking for Links 2004 on original Xbox because I heard Ryan McCaffrey on IGN’s Podcast Unlocked rave about its great online multiplayer. Yea, there’s no more online multiplayer on original Xbox, I know, but there’s still system link. This was the last golf game Microsoft Studios published before Powerstar Golf on Xbox One in 2013 and I wanted it.

I got very little done gaming wise all week. I collected my Miis by stopping at McDonalds. Most of the time it worked but today I got nothing from going there. I discovered the chicken snack wrap as a good alternative to those dollar cheeseburgers I usually get (I always have to buy something even though I’m only there for the Spot Pass). I finished Find Mii II and started over again. I noticed there is a Secret Quest you can choose from the menu the second time around, so I did that. I think it just added another path on the map screen. I’m almost finished the Fire Emblem Awakening 3D picture in Puzzle Swap. I’m going to do the Luigi’s Mansion Dark Moon one next.

I was going to play more old school stuff today, but I had several errands that messed with my schedule and, when I got to my friend's place, we got talking about Diablo 3 and next thing I knew, I was playing it and couldn't stop. 

It started out simple enough. I went to McDonalds to get a little lunch (I had slept in a bit longer than normal) and hit up the Nintendo Zone for Miis (I got six, I found out later). I think I'd better be careful about this Mickey Dee thing. It's really not very healthy. Next time I'll order something like coffee or a hot chocolate. I'd eat nothing but I feel too weird walking in there just to get the Spot Pass. Then I headed over to Gamestop to preorder Etrian Mystery Dungeon, out on April 7th (I went to the one where I get the feminine smiles and not the one where I get the upselling).

First off, I had an X-ray for my knee which I smashed on a icy sidewalk a month back. It wasn't broke, which is what I kind of expected. I should listen to my intuition and save some cash.

Starting something a little bit new here. On Sundays I'm going to write up what I did all week, my work week being Tuesday to Saturday, and then on Monday nights do my weekend, Sunday/Monday.

Talking about Dragon Magazine 83, March 1984, a month and year when lots of interesting music came out. The one that made the biggest impact on me was the soundtrack to the film Against All Odds, a movie out that same month. It featured the titular song by Phil Collins and two other exclusive songs by former and current Genesis members: Walk Through the Fire by Peter Gabriel and Mike Rutherford’s Making a Big Mistake. Against All Odds was a decent Phil Collins track, but the other two made it onto my cassette mixes.
